Venting about Wedding Wire Forums

Kari, on March 14, 2020 at 4:17 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5

I really wish Wedding Wire would allow posters to close topics, delete threads, or edit/update original posts. So many times I have posted something and then clarified in the comments, or come to a conclusion where no other feedback is necessary, and afterward its very frustrating to keep receiving comments/feedback that are not needed and/or unhelpful because they are based on the original post and not the most current situation. Commenting on topics that have been resolved or responding to people after is such a waste of time.

If needed, WW could archive the original posts for history but allow the most edited version to be shown (similar to Facebook). I am getting increasingly frustrated by these forums and am getting more and more eager for my wedding to be over just so I don't need to check in on this site as often. Sometimes the forums are helpful but when threads get out of control its just frustrating!

Aw I’m sorry to hear that. I know some people on here can give very intense responses. I hope you’ve found some posts and responses to be helpful though.

Thanks Melle. There have been some super helpful people on here, but I find it unhelpful to keep getting rude advise about a situation that has been resolved. Unfortunately, I find WW is more upsetting than helpful sometimes.

I'm trying to find a way to remove myself from the Forums and delete personal information about my wedding. I've gone through and deleted photos of my dress, myself, my FH, and our pet, but am still working on being as "non-existent" on here as possible. I'd still like to use some of the WW tools (checklist and seating chart) for the next few months, but once my wedding is over, good riddance!

I am going to be straight forward with you as I learned this the hard way. Be very limited what you post here. At the end of the day we all have different perspectives on weddings and etiquette. I saw your last post and yes it is frustrating to post something hoping for one response and others telling you responses about your and/or your FH that may not be what you expected. You really need to have a thick skin for these forums it seems. That is why I do not post something unless I am okay receiving negative feedback. You know your circle of friends and family best and I think if there is something you are dealing with then it's best to get your friends input. They will tell yu the truth and they know you best to be more straight forward. Each circle will do things differently. Do not let any negative experiences here ruin your view on the wedding. Wedding planning is stressful and there is a lot we do not know. At the end of the day just look forward to the day you get to marry the love of your life. Sometimes these forums can be helpful with things such as color schemes or vendors etc... I would just keep your posts light hearted and serious topics for friends and family that know you. The reality is we do not know you and posting on a public forum you will get sympathetic, positive or negative feedback. I hope the rest of your planning goes well and do not let the stuff like comments make you have a bad wedding experience. Don't ever give anyone that power. Happy planning. Smiley smile
