Vendor Parking

Moana, on May 23, 2019 at 11:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
My wedding will be in a downtown setting where of course parking fees apply. Do you typically pay for your vendors parking? My caterer is charging us $80 for for staff to park (servers, chefs, etc.) Is this normal?

That can be considered a delivery fee? I think this would be the norm, specially knowing that it's hard to find parking in the city.

    Hi Moana Smiley smile

It’s not unheard of but it’s not industry standard.

You and your FS could try to negotiate it if you have an issue with it, however, if this is just how the caterer does business it might be a required charge.

Did it mention this charge in your contract with the caterer?

Yes, this is normal. If the venue is charging them $80 to park, then they will pass that cost onto you. Them having to pay additional fees to perform your event are part of your expense not theirs.

I would pay- vendors estimate their own cost of goods- not additional expenses such as parking and tolls.

Yes! If there’s a parking fee and you want the vendors to be there, then you’ll need to cover it.
