Where do you stand on veils? Will you be wearing one or skipping it?

I'm in between. I went back and forth on the decision and finally decided on a birdcage veil. It goes best with my dress.

I was a hard pass on the veil for a long time, but my mom really wanted me to have one for pictures and such. I think the days of it covering your entire face as you walk down the aisle are gone, but I knew that definitely wasn't something I wanted.

When I had my dress on and the consultant put on a veil, I felt like a bride! I'll be wearing it for the ceremony and pictures, and then it's coming off.

I decided against one. I was thinking about getting a cap veil designed like the ones worn in the 1920s but the cheap ones were really cheap looking and the ones that looked nice weren't worth the cost to me. I have one of the 1920s cloche hats that I will take some fun pictures with as FH is wearing a fedora, my mom got the same style hat so we want to get some fun pictures with all our hats. FH is a hat guy, not just baseball caps but newsboy caps, boaters, straw hats, fedoras. So it will be fun for us all to wear fun hats for pictures.

ETA: I tried on a very pretty veil similar to the style I wanted with my dress when I bought it. It was only $200 cheaper than my dress and I thought that was ridiculous. My mom offered to pay but I couldn't let her spend that much money.

I’m defintely wearing a veil. I think it completes the look. I wouldn’t feel right not wearing one. I’m wearing a royal length veil with rhinestone edging

Definitely wearing a veil. I think they look beautiful and really add to the pictures. Plus like PP said I felt so much more bridal once I had put it on trying on my dress. I will not be covering my face when walking down the isle and we will see how annoying it is during the reception. I may take it off after pictures are done.

I bought one, but it kind of depends what my hair does in the next 9 months. I'd like my hair to grow longer, because as of right now it's too short to hold up my cathedral length veil. I'll be a little upset if I can't wear it but I also can't control everything. I love the look of veils. I think they add such a sense of romance to your ceremony. I'll be taking mine off for the reception (If I can even wear it) but I love the look of veils walking down the aisle.

I also was anti-veil for the longest time. My mom really wanted me to wear one but I was still on the fence. Once I had picked my dress and saw it with a veil I was sold. I will be wearing it only for the ceremony and some pictures then its coming off. I also chose not to spend a ton of money on it and ordered it off Amazon for like $30.

I wasn’t sure about a veil. When I was trying on dresses I also tried a veil with the dress I ended up choosing. After that I wanted a veil. Fast forward 7 months later and I bought a hair comb instead. I’m not anti-veil but I thought about my style, dress and location and didn’t think it would make sense for me.

I got mine on JJs house for like $25! I'll be wearing it for like two hours, tops, haha why spend a ton on it?

Probably a birdcage as well. Only considering informal dresses now, though.

Yes, I'm wearing a chapel length veil with my dress. I think a veil looks gorgeous with my dress.

Originally I wasn't going to wear one, but I changed my mind. I just got it in the mail yesterday, actually. I ordered a very simple, pencil edge fingertip length veil from amazon

Same here, my hair is short in the back and longer in the front. Bob style. My hair is also thin. I don't think my hair is able to hold a veil. I wasn't planning on wearing one, but my fh said he wanted one to "flip over" my head. So I just bought a kids veil for $35. It goes to my elbows. I'm still not sure I want to wear one 😞

Yes, I'll be wearing one! It made me feel more bridal, and I love those pictures with the veils blowing behind the bride.

I am wearing a finger-tip beaded veil. It's super beautiful. It has a blusher, but I don't think I will be wearing the blusher part.

I've gone back and forth between wanting one and not wanting one. I guess it all depends on the type, your hairstyle and dress.
