Veil or no veil for beach wedding?

Tania , on May 12, 2018 at 9:00 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17
I am getting married in the Bahamas and I would like to wear a veil but at the same time I’m not sure if it will look good for a beach wedding. Any suggestions?

Consider what is more important to you, wearing a veil and that bridal feeling, or your pictures. If you are unable to decide, get a very short veil, shoulder length or a bird cage

If you want one, go for it! I don't think the setting matters for this.

You can always remive or keep it for photos, no?

I may be alone on this but I feel like a veil would really compliment a beach wedding? As long as it’s not very ornate. I would stick with something very simple. It will look beautiful in the breeze!

I faced the same dilemma - I thought I wanted a veil, but wasn't sure about how it would work in the beach setting. I had visions of it blowing into my face and sticking to my lipstick. Plus, I wasn't sure how it would work with my dress. instead I'm wearing a headpiece with long ribbons to flutter in the breeze during my beach wedding! Smiley smile

However, if it would complement your dress, I think it would be fine for the beach! Just watch out for your lipstick. Smiley winking

I personally love the look of a veil, but I'd be worried it would be too windy for one right on the beach.

You might want to be flexible on this. You may find it just a little too windy on the day of and won't be able to wear it. On the other hand it may be perfect! I think you should look into getting one but be prepared to not be able to wear it.

I think a veil would look fine for a beach wedding. Just make sure you secure it really well, beaches are usually windy.

Mrs. Rose, I didn’t think of that, you might be right. It could also co either way if it’s too breezy it might be flying everywhere and annoying me but yes I thought of something very simple!

Thanks to everyone, I think this was very helpful! Like someone suggested I will get it just in case and if it’s windy that day and I get a feeling it won’t work I will follow my fut instinct! 🙃

I am having a beach wedding as well. I am opting to not have a veil as I can't be certain which way the wind will blow (literally!) and I don't want a veil in my face/blowing all over the place.

I’m having a beach wedding and going with a long veil that has some beading or lace on it that adds weight and hoping for the best! Lol. I’m also going to do a hair piece Incase the veil doesn’t work.

I’m also as a surprise to my FH getting my new initials embroidered on the end of my veil so that will add weight too!

I am also having a beach wedding in Mexico and I am thinking about getting a cape veil like this one, https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/524818124/

They attach on the straps of your dress, I thought this would be better as it wont blow in my face or mess up my hairstyle
