Veil on for first look?

Natalie, on August 30, 2016 at 12:18 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21

For those of you having the first look and most of the pictures done before the ceremony, are you going to be wearing your veil? I usually don't see pics with the veil on the bride until post ceremony. Just curious on your thoughts.

I've been wrestling with the same question. I think I've settled on sans veil. I have a chapel length one and we are driving around the city for pictures, it would be a lot of work to haul it and ensure it stays clean.

Skip the veil for the first look. It will be an extra little surprise for him when you walk down the aisle!

Thanks ladies! Gracie, I was thinking the exact same thing! I think I will save the veil for the ceremony. ChocolatierKT, I'm sorry! I'm posting on here all the time lately, trying to figure out the tiny details now!

I wore my veil for the first look. I already had it on for bridal portraits before the first look, and it was too complicated to take it off again and fix my hairpiece and hair. DH still cried at our ceremony, so it's all good lol.

I skipped the veil for the first look and only used it for the ceremony.

I think I might keep it on, only because I will probably already have it on and then I get some shots with it on in the pictures with just the two of us!

I wore mine, but mine was a fascinator, not a full veil.

I would think, like MzRosaLu said, that if you have it in already it might be too complicated to remove and put back...but I think it depends on your veil.

If it will be easy for you to put on before the ceremony, after the first look, I'd skip it.

I plan on wearing my veil for our first look. We're going to take most of the pictures before the ceremony and I want my veil in them

Most of my brides don't have their veils for the first look.

I wore my veil for our first look. My hair stylist didn't stay long after finishing hair, so I wanted her to put on and pin my veil... It's much easier to take out then put on!

Plus, I like the veil look and wanted it in pics. Here's a snap from our first look!

I wore mine. I did bridal shots before first look and the rest of our pictures before the ceremony, so its seemed logistically to make sense. It didn't find it cumbersome or awkward, but mine was also fingertip length.

I'm planning to wear mine, only because the hair dresser is putting it in for me. I'm not sure if I'll keep it in all night, but the chances of her putting it on better than - about 100% - so I'll have it on from my morning hair appointment until my head decides it needs a break later at the reception.

I had mine on, but didn't have it over my face. I saved that part for walking down the aisle.

Oh gosh I never even thought about this. I want pictures of my in my veil too and after first look is when we are doing the majority of photos. Oh well, maybe we can get some during cocktail hour if I decide to not wear it for first look. This is one thing I never thought about. FH isn't a big fan of veils anyways but I do plan on wearing one during the ceremony.

I wore mine, but it was elbow length, so it didn't really get in the way.
