Veil help!

Jamie, on September 23, 2019 at 9:38 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 23
So I’ve hit the point in my whole wedding look where it’s time for me to pick out a veil. I’ve narrowed it down to two options!

Glitter tulleVeil help! 1Rose gold flakeVeil help! 2

So I know I want fingertip length, so that’s what both of these are. My dress has a layer of glitter tulle underneath a lace layer(I’ll attach other pics are the end!), so I feel like the glitter tulle veil is a fun and simple addition to that and it doesn’t call away any attention from the dress itself. I can get this for about $50 from David’s bridal.

My other find was a gold flaked veil! Now I love this because I feel like it would look great against my hair color(an Auburn) and it also goes with our wedding colors. This one however is about $200 on Etsy and I can’t justify spending that much on a veil. I could DIY this, I’m an artist and avid crafter, already DIYing a lot of our wedding—for maybe about $30-40. My biggest concern with this is that I’ll do this and hate how it looks in my wedding photos. Since I’m already DIYing a lot of the wedding I’m not sure I want to DIY my own look.

I’m just very torn because I love both, and I’m sure if I put a lot of work into making it myself I would love it, but I’m just very conflicted—so maybe you guys can help me figure it out!

Here are photos of my first try on when my dress came in! Hopefully it helps with the veil visual. I’ve tried on some lace trimmed veils but I haven’t been quite happy with them, so honestly I’m even open to other suggestions. I’m trying to go for an ethereal look.

I like the first one best! I think it would go better with your dress and overall look without detracting attention.

My vote is for the first one. It's subtle yet beautiful and will leave the focus on your dress, which is stunning by the way!

I would go with the first one. The gold flake one doesn't really go with your dress and it won't photograph nicely as spots will look black if they don't have light directly on them.

I was also not into a veil with lace so I got one with bling around the bottom

I got it on clearance from David's Bridal last year. I got lucky that it was on sale from $250 to $50

I agree with PPs, I prefer the first. It complements your dress without being distracting and will photograph better.

These are both gorgeous. Honestly, I think going with the first one will save you some sanity. It's beautiful and compliments your dress nicely. I don't think you should take the risk and cause yourself more stress if you're on the fence about it!

Edit: my apologies! Should've scrolled through the whole thread before commenting. I'm happy to hear that you made a choice (and it's a great one!)
