Veil for Renewal?

Abby, on March 30, 2013 at 9:46 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

Little back ground...My husband & I were married 8/17/2012 in TX...He is in the Army and both of our families are from CT. We just went to a little pond & a JOP married us, with one of my sergeant & officer as our witnesses. No family or friends could attend. Now we are planning a vow renewal on our 2 year anniversary (he will be out of the Army then & we will move back home). I am SO ahead of the game. Booked my church which I grew up attending. Booked our venue & the cake came with the package. Booked DJ & photographer. Bought my dress & shoes. Bought the invitations. Pretty much designed all my centerpieces and decorations & bought most of the stuff & so much more.

I know I have time, but i can't decide whether or not to wear a veil. On one hand, I am not a bride. On the other hand, I never really got the "bride" experience. Opinions??

Here's my dress (i copied the pic from google...mine isn't fitted yet, but i plan on adding a crystal belt and making the bottom flare out more)

What a gorgeous dress!! I think either way would be totally fine-- it's up to! Maybe a blusher or bird cage veil so you can have the experience without being over the top (and it would look really good with your dress Smiley smile).

Either way, it's your choice! No one is going to be like, "Ew, can you believe Abby wore a veil for her vow renewal?" and if anyone is, she isn't worth your time. Personally, I hate hate all birdcage veils, but I think a fingertip length or longer veil would look amazing!

Thanks ladies!! When I tried on my dress, i tried on an elbow length veil (i think?) and a birdcage. I thought i would really like the bird cage, but i didn't...i think it was the way the lady put it on me, it was touching my face and looked weird. But here's a pic with the veil...i blacked my face out because i was making a horrible face lol.

I think it needs a veil ! I would like to see a pic though with you in a bird cage veil though. I do like the veil you have shown just feel like it may look better with a birdcage veil? Oh and BTW you ARE a bride whether you got married 10 years ago or 10 days ago Smiley smile

Here's pics with a bird cage veil and an elbow length veil....sorry i blacked out the face, my mother constantly took pictures (which was smart) however every picture I was talking or making a funny face. I'm leaning towards a veil...maybe with crystals on the edge. Oh and we are making the neckline more of a dramatic sweetheart and the crystal belt will go all the way around.

I'm buying a 1 tier veil, its a little longer than finger tip. then I'm going to do add some crystals myself...(saving $150!) Something like this, but a couple inches shorter

I think what would like amazing on you is a veil with lace trim where the lace veil lays on top of your head. The veil length goes past your waist. Kinda a Italian/Spanish style.
