Vegetarian options??

We are having a catered pig roast for our wedding but I know some people on FHs side are vegetarians. What vegetarian options are you having?

"Catered pig roast"? Does that mean they'll be roasting the pig during the reception? Forgive me if it sounds like a crazy question :-). My vegan and vegetarian friends would leave due to the smell.

@Alyssa - I don't really have room on the RSVP card for additional information dietary restrictions - we're also not putting children's menu options on the RSVP card.

The few families (immediate family) who will have children will be talked to about the options.

I'm not sure either thing being on the website is the best option, but it's what works with the invites we picked out and I think will work out with our crowd.

Yeah I was going to say something about the pig roast too...personally, I'm not even vegetarian and I cannot be around a pig roast. So I would probably warn any vegetarians (and vegans!!!) that there will be a pig visibly roasting at the reception.

Our vegetarian option is a cauliflower steak.. has anyone ever had this? I feel like I want to pay extra because it sounds terrible and I don't want to disappoint our vegetarian friends. Does anyone know if this is good or bad?

Hubby and I have a 100 plus person pig roast every year. It's common, in his family. My Mom's a vegetarian; she's never attended or would attend. My grandmother isn't a fan, buy she says; "I just don't look at it" (she doesn't eat pork, either). I'm waiting for someone in our neighborhood, to complain someday. The entire neighborhood smells like cooking bacon.

Our vegetarian appetizer is spinach&artichoke dip with fried pits points. We brought some back after the tasting and got full approval from our vegetarian family members. Fall salad with jalapeño cornbread and homemade biscuits with butters/jams.

We're having a buffet that has a few veggie options including a mashed potato/sweet potato bar and a pasta station. The late night snacks include a pancake station and veggie sliders.

As a vegan I would appreciate a heads up if there was going to be at a pig roast.

Also because me and FH our entire buffet is vegan. So many choices to choose from. The wedding we were at just this past weekend gave us a portobello mushroom, tomato on top, strawberry on the side, three pieces of kale and an orange slice.
