Vanilla or Chocolate Cake? Which One Do You Like Better?

First world problems. #TeamVanilla

I will almost always pick chocolate over vanilla.

FFW! We are getting both! But we have to get more of one of the flavors because that's how the tiers worked out. We have to have 15 more servings of chocolate or vanilla! We just don't know which direction to swing.

But it's looking like I was right! Team Vanilla is winning.

Neither...I am not a cake person. But if I do eat it...carrot cake is my jam!

Haha, mrjonesandme, I feel you. I really don't like cake or cupcakes, which is why I gave FH total control on this one. Give me a soft cookie or a brownie over cake any day!

Vanilla. I love chocolate and I love cake, but I really don't care for them together for the most part. it has to be really excellent chocolate cake AND I have to be in the mood for it.

I won't waste calories, on anything that's vanilla.

I always pick vanilla.

I would do vanilla because it's simple and everybody will like it. Even if they would have preferred chocolate, I don't think people will be mad if they get vanilla instead, but somebody might be allergic or have an aversion to chocolate (esp. kids, it happens). just my opinion.

Since the filling for the vanilla is fudge, I say vanilla. If it wasn't for that filling, I would have chosen differently. I really don't think you can go wrong either way though.

I personally love chocolate but i think vanilla is more of a crowd pleaser

I say vanilla, but I would actually be disappointed with the filling, lol.

We're probably going to have a similar argument because we're doing a 2-tier cake and DF wants chocolate w/Bavarian cream filling, I'm thinking almond with either white chocolate mousse or just buttercream, yum!

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. My choice depends on my mood, the day, the hour.

@mna, yeah my mom said the same thing about the filling. She said she would go vanilla cake with vanilla custard. But she's not paying and I already told FH that it's completely his choice so vanilla with fudge it is!

I'm following this since I have the same issue! I also thought more ppl would like vanilla so I have the bottom and top tier vanilla (dulce de leche and vanilla cream filling) and the middle tier chocolate (canolli and mocha filling). My vote is Vanilla!
