Hi!

Has anyone had issues with USPS mailing invites back? I put our return address on the back of the envelope, because I thought it looked nicer, and we got about 20 of them sent back to us. USPS apparently scanned the back of our envelopes and used our return address as the "to" address. This seems so absurd to me. Has anyone had this happen or heard of this, if so, what did you do? Did USPS make you pay for postage to resend? I'm also a little irritated because now they are going to look pretty worn having to go through the mail twice, and I spent so much time on them...ughhh...also worried I'm going to get more back later...

This happened with one of my invitations, I stuck it back in the mail with a sticky note saying, please deliver to correct address.

That's crazy. Glad you brought this up since we plan to put the return address on the back of ours as well.

Well they didn't cancel your stamp, so you should not have to pay extra postage at least.

My USPS did something similar...it was infuriating. I had some extra invites and sent those but I was so angry. Sorry you're going through that

Another poster mentioned this a few months ago, and that was all it took to convince me not to do it! That sucks, OP. But I'm glad you got them back instead of them being lost in some sort of mail limbo!

As an update I put these back in the mail today. Post office said the same thing that it must have been the way they were facing when sorted. scratched out the bar code so they don't look the prettiest but oh well - lesson learned, will never put the return address on the back of anything ever again. Lol

USPS service levels have decreased over the years. Hope they can resolve it for you.

Welllll I just found out last night that one couple we invited (FH's co-worker at his last job) never got the invitation. I absolutely remember putting their invitation together, plus I triple-checked my invites before mailing them. So it must have gotten lost in the mail. They declined.

Gah, the mail!! In our defense, I had FH contact him a week after the RSVP deadline and the guy never responded soooo we tried.
