Using our own vehicle

Mary, on January 6, 2020 at 3:12 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10
Tim and i have decided not to do transportation rental. The transportation would be a waste of money for us since the venue is literally 5min from where we live and everything is hosted their. We are detailing his black F150. His son in law and daughter will be our drivers IF WE SHOULD NEED ONE. We will be leaving sometime in the early morning headed to our honeymoon destination so more money for our trip. I do want to get picture of us on our motorcycles. Just trying to figure how we are gonna get them their and back home without adding another thing to do to our lists. We may catch som backlash or raised eyebrows but we dont care. We are doing things our way...

Are you wanting the pictures on the motorcycles of you guys in your wedding attire? Would it be possible to take those pictures when you get back from the honeymoon? Get dressed back up and have someone do a mini shoot?

If not, I'd suggest maybe renting a trailer (if you don't have one) for the bikes and drop the trailer/bikes off at a families house on your way out for your honeymoon and then go pick the trailer/bikes up when you return.

FH & I are doing our getaway on his motorcycle! The weather is unpredictable in the south so our Leap Day wedding could be cold or it could be warm so we're only driving the motorcycle down the street, then, FFIL is going to bring the motorcycle back to his house on a trailer. I'm so excited for our motorcycle pictures!

The easiest thing would probably be to tow them on a trailer, or if you feel comfortable, have someone else drive them there. Would your venue let you park them there overnight? You could drive them over the day before if that's the case.

Dyna thanks. I'm ok with someone riding mine. Time would never allow. I'm thinking we take them that morning since its 5min away. Once I arrive, that morning around 10a , i wont leave again and once Tim arrives I'll remain out of site until it's my time to walk down aisle.

Have you thought about leaving on them? It's a little different than one car or bike, but why not? We plan on leaving on our main bike together (even though we both ride and have our own). I purchased a short dress to change into and put my gear over for leaving.
However, we will most likely run into transportation issues for other bikes because we plan on having the cafe racers we are currently building there as props and photo ops. As well as his son's dirt bike (all the groomsmen ride and will be entering the ceremony on their bikes). So we have to figure out how to get 3 additional bikes there and home. I believe we will have fh brother trailer them to and from, but we haven't actually really talked about it or hammered out the details. I'd say someone we trust riding them, but everyone we'd trust will be on their own bikes already.

We have thought about that, but it will be pretty late. I also thought about a nice walk about one block home. Its a small loving town.
As said before we live 5 min away. My train is tremendously long and the traffic will be out.. Those would be our final photos of the evening. It would be an interesting close out...
