Useful Wedding Favors

A lot of the wedding favors I have seen are kinda pointless and the ones I've gotten from attending weddings usually end up in a pile or the trash. Any body have ideas of USEFUL but cute wedding favors?

I had 2. I had bottles of bubbles(which the kids especially love loved). My theme was two hearts intertwined. We had found tiny silver ornaments of 2 hearts intertwined. We used these for the names holder and the guests got to take them home as ornaments for their Christmas trees.

Anything edible. Our wedding was just after easter so we got small little buttlers chocolate eggs and gave everyone one.

My FH works for MARs - the candy people. So we get a REALLY good deal on customized MnMs.. they have our wedding date and photo with the colors. So we are putting those in little boxes at each seat.

Edible were the one type we felt would not be "wasted"

My FH is from South Jersey, so we're hoping to involve little containers of Johnson's popcorn or salt water taffy for our favors as a nod to his family and his hometown, since we're getting married in my hometown.

Our wedding guest list is small enough that I am putting tags on the lanterns we are using for everyone to take home

Since we are getting married in a historic mansion we have antique skeleton key bottle openers as the favor. They are also doubling as the seating chart.

We did a candy bar with takeaway bags, and matchbooks. i agree with PPs that consumables are best but also that favours are unnecessary. if i had it to do over i would've just not done anything, other than the candy.

i was also at a DW at a summer camp where we all had to stay in cabins (it actually kind of sucked) and the favours were mini flashlights of decent quality so we could find our way to our cabins at night. we still use them (and laugh about what a pain the wedding was every single time)

I'm just doing Hershey Kisses in plastic baggies tied with ribbon. That way they eat them, they're gone, and they throw away the containers. Only bad thing with chocolate or cookies is that it doesn't do anything to help those with gluten or dairy allergies, so in my case I might buy a bag of peppermints and have a peppermint alternative as well so it would be dairy free.

We are doing edible favors. We made our own special spice blend with a mini bottle of olive oil for a bread dip! Hopefully our guests like them. Smiley smile

Our wedding is Halloween time. We are having a candy bar with sacks you can fill and take home. Also, instead of cake, 4 flavors of cupcakes and small boxes that they can take individual cupcakes home in as well.

Edible partying gifts. I have never ever had a useful favor so I said, food and that is it.
