Upstate NY wedding venues

Kellie, on September 16, 2017 at 11:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

Looking for an outside venue surrounded by trees/mountain/lake. Any suggestions? Have used the vendors tab but am looking for some other ideas

You've got o be more specific. We're in Orange County, and to our family in Rockland County., we're upstate. NY is huge. What county?

If you are anyway near Canadaigua/Rochester area, I got married at the cumming nature center. Literally in the woods.

Hey Rachel, I'm in OC myself!

I agree, upstate could be anywhere within a 5 hour + drive.

I second Hunter Mountain. If you don't mind planning out of state, I think Vermont scenery trumps upstate NY and depending on where in NY you're located, VT can be a very short drive.

Just attended a wedding last weekend at Lourdes Camp in Skaneateles. It's a Catholic kids camp that has a chapel, and boat house. My nephew and new niece were able to have a Catholic wedding since the ground is consecrated. Dinner was in a 100X40' tent and cocktail hour and dancing were in the boat house with a deck overlooking the beautiful lake, hills, and countryside! As guests, we stayed in the bunk houses. It was an absolutely gorgeous venue!!

NY is a big place.....Bear Mountain rocks. There are three separate venues on the property and they are all fabulous ( i love the carousel...).

Sorry! I didn't realize people referred to southern NY as upstate.

We're in the Adirondacks, basically as north as you can go with out entering Canada.

We are getting married at Belhurst castle on Seneca lake in the fingerlakes. It's beautiful there and surprisingly affordable for the quality of the venue and the view

Look at locations in New Paltz. Lake Minnewaska State Park is gorgeous. Gilded Otter Brewery may be able to host a reception. Apple and pumpkin picking, cider from the country store, walking around an adorable town in the fall foliage - it could really be something special!

Also @Kellie, if you are in the Adirondacks, maybe somewhere in lake placid on mirror lake? That would be pretty

I attended at wedding at the Warwick Conference Center, which overlooks Warwick Valley. That wedding was in May, but I bet it would be spectacular in the fall.

We're getting married at the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel, near Alexandria Bay on the St Lawrence River... not surrounded by trees/lake but it's up north so I thought I'd mention it!

I always said my dream wedding would be at Mohonk Mountain House after I went to school in that area! After looking it up it actually wasn't as expensive as I expected it to be!

I went to a wedding at The Sagamore in/on Lake George last September and it was beautiful. Probably pricey, though.

Maybe you can get married at one of the vineyards or and orchard like beak and skiff . Might be something in Alexandria bay .
