My mother said she could pay the rest but i feel guilty spending THAT much money on a dress. Im having a civil and church ceremony and even though i'm not wearing a wedding gown to both i going to still need to buy a pretty dress for the civil wedding.

I'm torn because there is a lot i could do with that much money!!!

There's ALOT of options (I don't know if these got mentioned) but people on Say Yes To The Dress have boughten the floor samples, which saves a lot of money. You can also go during a "running of the brides" and look for the dress, or you can buy the dress during a trunk show, which also saves some money.

What Unique said! Yes, one shoulder straps will be out in 30 years, but so will likely mermaid silhouettes, textured bottoms and white dresses altogether!! Have what you want NOW!

I tried on several Lazaros when I was shopping. They never looked like they do in the photos! I could barely tell it was the same dress. Mainly because you will never be standing the way they model those gowns. Find a dress that looks good when you stand naturally, as you'll be doing more of than the modeling part on your big day.

Pronovias has really cute dresses, you should definitely go to the store. As for the one strap thing, I'm sure you can have it altered, and besides, like Unique said, you're getting married now, not 30 years down the road. Live in the moment.

You can also try Rosa Clara and San Patrick gowns, they are the same concept and breathtakingly beautiful.

    Look them up at www.bestbridalprices.com

I had the same problem and the dress i wanted was out of my range but eventually i realzied i had to swing for it cause i would never let it go that i passes up the dress! My budget is much less than yours and i could hardly bear to spend the 1500 on my dress, you can look for trunk shows they usually offer a discount when showing. I feel horrible spending so much $$ on a dress that'll be worn once so maybe if you do buy it you can sell it after then you wont feel so bad about the price . Just a thougt

What part of MD are you? There is a store in Essex that you should check out:

Helenas (410)687-5611. (when I was looking lol) she told me many of her dresses are priced low.

    Hi Ladies,

Just to keep u on the loop. I have tried a couple more dresses and so far the # is still that Lazaro! I did however, find a new boutique opening up in my area that said they will carry this dress, the best part is that i get 15% off because of their opening special discounts!!! I'm at work so i cant upload pics but i just love this dress!!!

This weekend im going to another bridal salon to try on more stuff that will hopefully bring me back to a more budget friendly reality Smiley smile
