I've been sending my Mom photos of dresses I'm considering to wear to the RD, trying to make her feel involved since I've done most of the planning stuff overseas and she's been shooting them all down. I've been sending my Mom photos of dresses I'm considering to wear to the RD, trying to make her feel involved since I've done most of the planning stuff overseas and she's been shooting them all down. I really want to wear white with a pop of another color, some sort of pattern or detail. Finally after the latest rejection (she said the dress would make me look like a nurse, lol), she told me that I shouldn't go for white just because I'm getting married and to look at other colors.

What do you ladies think? Wear white cuz why not for a wedding event? Or take all colors into consideration? And what color will YOU be wearing?

Haha, thanks MrsZ. Unfortunately, it didn't fit well, not flattering . If I lose like 10 pounds it MIGHT work, but I think I'm gonna keep looking. I was really sad because I love how it looks!

SO I've been doing some browsing and I've come across this adorable dress! I've worn similar silhouettes before and they're very flattering to my figure, plus I love the bright color and the fact it's got movement!

    What do you guys think?

Wear what you want. I did not know there were now rules about what color the bride could or couldn't wear to a purely optional event -- the rehearsal dinner. It's funny, the first time I saw the title of this thread, there was another thread nearby entitled, "Can I wear black to my rehearsal dinner?".

Centerpiece- I saw that other post too, lol. I didn't realize there were rules either til I started getting this feedback from my Mom. I just figured, why not white?

Alicia- Thank you! I can see being comfortable in this one all night, which is important because we're having a welcome drinks party sorta thing for our out of town guests after the dinner, so it'll be a long night.

I say wear what you wish no matter what the color, it's your celebration! I've seen a lot of brides where white to their showers and/or rehearsal dinner. Where what you want!

I will wear white/ cream to the shower I wore a blush dress to my bachelorette. I think you should wear what you want but If I have an RD I wouldn't wear white cuz I want that big pop of white/ivory for the wedding lol

Kemmie-That's basically what my Mom said, why wear white the day before the wedding? Lol. I don't know if I'll be having a bridal shower or bachelorette party so I guess that's kinda why I was leaning toward wearing white to the RD.
