Update on wedding, plus question.

Traci, on October 20, 2019 at 7:13 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13
Hello W.W. Community!!!!!!
We are getting married in 2021. (2 years away)
My bridesmaid dropped out of the wedding today because our scheduals dont match up and she told me that she has been struggling with medical issues. (Fertility issues)

I felt bad because i never knew she was suffering from those. So I gave her my support.

Do I send her a gift anyway for her support?

Congrats! It’s not necessary but it’s definitely a nice gesture and an act of kindness. That’s a great sign of friendship.

Great idea, thanks. I felt bad that she is going through this. And I feel she shouldnt have to put on a brace face for my wedding. She deserves space to take care of her health. Health comes first!

You are an awesome friend... a lot of people would have worried about the drop but you are putting her feelings first. ❤ I think it would mean a lot to her to know that, even though she couldnt stand with you for her personal reasons, you appreciate the support she gives and you understand why. Congratulations on your engagement and Happy planning!

You don't have to, but that would be a really sweet and supportive thing to do, and i'm sure she'd appreciate it. I'm betting she probably feels bad about dropping out too, and that may help her see you understand.

Well. This might sound strange. But in my mind. Its everyone's wedding because we are becoming a big family. Its a big family event! And I can't get mad at health problems. 😄😄😄😄

That is so sweet of you! I'm sure she feels terrible, but will feel a million times better knowing you support her. Could you maybe add a few pampering things into her basket? Something even as small as a face mask to help her focus on herself and not her health issues for a bit?
