LOOONG story- He proposed October 31, 2013. We picked out the ring in April and the lady refused to size my hand. She said she can just look and see the size. So I got my ring and I had to have it re-sized, because the lady refused to get my correct size. I received it and the center stone was off center and some of the halo stones were crooked. I went to take it in to be fixed because a stone fell out in the 2 month mark. They said they wouldn't fix it because "no one will notice except for you" so they wouldn't fix it. I went in just for the purpose of asking them to fix the mistakes. This was a $7k ring, so I was not settling for crooked. They gave it back to me and just added gold dots to the empty space from the center stone and they did not polish the gold added to another part, so it was a dull gray. Then a second stone fell out. Thats ridiculous - I agree with the social media approach. Companies JUMP on bad reviews on facebook, and if they take it down, keep posting until you get the response you want.

At this point, they should give you a full refund.

I've had really good luck with contacting the Better Business Bureau. I would try that route before going to a lawyer.

I was a paralegal in civil litigation for 18 years [I am in nursing school now]. Contact an attorney. What state do you live in? I might be able to give you a referral

This is horrendous! For spending $7,000, I cannot believe how they are treating you! And now they tried to give you a different ring? I agree with consulting a lawyer and also starting a social media campaign. Contact your local news station as well - they often do "costumer report" stories exposing fraudulent situations. Basically, it seems like these people need to be publically shamed before they'll do anything. I cannot believe corporate won't help you with this.

@Kathleen-I'm so sorry you are going through this. I had a very very similar situation with my original ring. Needless to say I no longer have it and ended up being out the money FH had spent. We've written reviews with many refutes by the shop employee that helped us design a custom set - but never by the owner himself (they were local).

This is completely unacceptable and you've waited and have been much more patient than I was. For us at three months and 6 damaged stones and crooked setting later we took action.

Contact a lawyer. Even if it doesn't get to court Jared might squeeze their butt cheeks together for having media attention and give you a deal, or better yet, a full refund. Good luck and I hope you can finally start to enjoy your engagement. I know for me my experience with the ring and stress it caused me ruined the beginning 6 months of our engagement. This should be one of the happiest times of your life...not stressful with faulty craftsmanship and poor customer service.

Tell them you are contacting the Better Business Bureu and then a lawyer. Inform them of it first, gauge their reactions and if they don't care then contact BBB first then a lawyer. Just the threat may kick them into gear.

Dont waste your time with the BBB. If they are members it will get marked as your fault not theirs, if they are not members they probably dont care. Get a lawyer.
