Upcoming nj brides- what venue did you choose?

Jennifer , on November 5, 2018 at 3:38 PM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 27
After checking out several venues and starting to narrow down our choices, I was wondering what venue some upcoming NJ brides have chosen and why?

We got married at Perona Farms in Andover. I looked at SO MANY places but none had everything I wanted until I went there.

Not only is Perona Farms beautiful - they have so many great spots for pictures - but the food is great and the staff is amazing.

Our guests LOVED the food and everything went so smoothly thanks to Bryant and Samantha, the wedding coordinator. I can't recommend it highly enough!

What locations have you narrowed down to?

We are getting married at Lucien's Manor in Berlin, in their Versailles Ballroom. we also looked at a lot of venues, however this venue was the ONLY venue where the general manager worked with us! The minimum guest count for that ballroom was 130 and he cut it to 90 for us. He added uplighting for us for free, he cut the ceremony fee way, WAY down for us! Lamb Chops Hors d'oeuvre ( pretty sure that is spelled wrong) are for a Saturday wedding, my mom mentioned how much she loved those and he, without us asking, added it to our Sunday wedding package. It was important for us to have 3 entree choices AND a vegetarian dish and we got it with Lucien's, I couldn't imagine a better wedding package for the amount we are paying! Plus it is absolutely beautiful!

    Where have you looked?

We are getting married at David’s Country Inn in Hackettstown. It’s an old inn, historic beatiful building, so different then a typical hall.

Clarks Landing in Delran. We felt they gave you so much for a lower price than other places we looked at. Lots of food!

They really are amazing. All the past brides I have spoken to have nothing but great things to say about them. I believe our second tour was Mansion on Main Street, they are beautiful! Good luck on narrowing down.**

We booked Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael in Springfield. It was the only place we looked at. The first time we saw it, it was a week after the proposal and my mother had misunderstood the appointment time and therefore, my fiance and I were over an hour late. It was after dark, I felt rushed through the appointment, there was a wedding going on at the same time, and the caterers who run the wedding venue there had another appointment right after us. I had a bad taste from that visit.

Fortunately, I was able to make a second appointment to view the place during the daytime. I arrived and the director asked me if I would like a tuna sandwich since they had just made a fresh batch of tuna salad for an event that weekend. I was hungry so asked if I could have it without the bread. He brought me a plate of tuna salad with orzo on a paper plate AND HE PLATED IT with an edible flower garnish!

They showed me the venue with natural light and even changed the lighting in the ballroom at my request, in order to see it better. It was a much better experience and I came away with the date and venue locked down.

We are getting married at Battleground Country Club in Manalapan. We had a list of about 5-6 venues to look at and overall we were looking for the best value.

This was the 3rd venue we were looking at and I was making a mental pro/con list for each.

I love our venue because we can have both the ceremony and reception there, are guaranteed to be the only event there that day, will be able to get ready there, take our pictures there, they have a separate indoor ceremony space from the reception hall in the event we can’t go outside, there is a beautiful patio with fire pits, and also the price was perfect.

We are getting married at The English Manor 11/2/2019. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL and the staff has been amazing so far. My FH and I didn't want a run of the mill banquet hall and The English Manor is super cozy and offered all that we want Smiley smile

We are getting married at the Bishop Farmstead in Southampton, NJ. It's actually the headquarters for the Pinelands Preservation Alliance where my fiance volunteered for many years, but they have a barn onsite that has recently been totally gutted and renovated for weddings starting in Spring of 2019! All of the landscaping, decorating, painting and upgrades to the venue are being done through Jeffrey A Miller Catering (JAM), who is the caterer for the venue. The venue has gorgeous gardens, fields for the backdrop of our ceremony, a nice downstairs area for cocktail hour, then the loft for the reception. Working with JAM so far has been awesome! We're getting married September 6, 2019 and they have walked us through all of the details already and have been responsive to all of our questions. We were a bit hesitant at first as we're likely going to be one of the first weddings held there, but JAM does amazing work at all of their other venues and I have complete trust in them. If you're still looking at venues I'd highly recommend you contact JAM and ask about the Bishop Farmstead! Smiley smile

We're getting married at The Hamilton Manor in Hamilton on June 2, 2019! We visited quite a few venues (probably 10+) and researched many more, but the HM is absolutely PERFECT for us!

It has several gorgeous event spaces (outdoor gazebo, barn, basement cocktail lounge, and grand ballroom) but there's only one event per day so we get to use all of it Smiley smile There's an amazing bridal suite and groom's lounge for us to use as well. The price is right for what you get (massive cocktail hour, 3 entrees + vegetarian option, cake + Venetian table, all linens, centerpieces, GOBO monogram, etc.) - it's practically all inclusive! Plus, it's a family-run business which I love!

We’re getting married at Rutgers Gardens next September. I think it’s a more non traditional venue as it’s an outdoor and pavilion style but we chose it because the gardens are stunning, we both went to Rutgers so it’s a call back, and super affordable 🙏

We are getting married at a The Mansion at Mountain Lakes in Mountain Lakes (it’s near Parsipany) we chose it because it had an elegant, rustic feel. I knew it would be our venue the moment I stepped in, honestly!! It’s reasonably priced, and the brides I know that got married there raves about it!
