Unresponsive Venue

Kristen, on August 28, 2020 at 9:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 9
HELP. I’m trying my best not to panic here, but I need some advice. I’m getting married on 10/17/2020 (so under 50 days, yayy!) however, my venue has stopped replying to me.

The last email exchange we had was on 8/6. I sent several follow up emails to that with absolutely no response. My venue is family owned/ran, the owner doubles as my wedding planner and day of coordinator, and she’s also my florist. The last email she sent she stated she was working on floral proposals for me. We’re really getting down to the nitty gritty here and I feel like I’m being left in the dark. I know she must be extremely busy as this weekend is the first wedding the venue has had since COVID hit and she plans every wedding there the same way she is mine. But shouldn’t I have gotten some sort of a response by now? It’s been almost a month.
HELP. what would you do?

I would try calling them, or if possible, stop by in person during their business hours. That's a long time to wait for a response from them.

I'd try calling them or going by in person. But I also believe they could be stressed if they are preparing to open and have their first wedding in months. 3 weeks isn't normal, but it's also not terrible.

I’m sure they are a bit overwhelmed with reopening and all of the news guidelines but I would call and then visit in person if I didn’t reach them. Not responding for 3 weeks is unreasonable for any venue. You have been more patient than I would have been.

I would say try going in person. It seems like a lot of people have been sending a delay in message. Its normal to be nervous because it is your wedding. You want everything to be perfect for your special day.

Absolutely call them or go in person if you can. Sometimes people get super busy and forget to respond to messages, but a phone call is usually easier to pick and and at least let you know what's going on. Same if you were able to go in, and it would give you peace of mind as well!

Go in and talk to them in person. They can't ignore you that way.
