Unplanned Pregnancy with 4 Months to Wedding

NikkiKillzz, on May 19, 2016 at 6:54 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21

Just found out I am preggers!! My original dress was super fitted mermaid style. I don't think that will work any more as I will be around 6 months pregnant during the wedding. Any suggestions on where to look for maternity wedding dresses?

Anything with an empire waist can work for you! I used to work at a bridal store and we never had maternity dresses, but the pregnant brides always looked great in empire waists that were flowy on the bottom to give room

Congrats on the baby! Maybe go back to the salon where you originally purchased your dress?

ETA: also consider BM dresses in white/ivory with an empire waist. My twin sister is currently 8 months pregnant still fits into her BM dress we bought before she was showing.

Congratulations!! I agree with Swin- an empire waist dress will give you plenty of room to grow.

I'd vote corset back; then the fit of the dress can adjust to whatever size you and baby are, not the other way around. Also, congratulations!!

Congrats on your pregnancy!!!umm I think David's bridal might have a section on their site that is maternity dresses not sure. I'd go for a empire or a-line dress some of them are not tight around the tummy and you can pull it off my SIL was like 5 or 6 months at her wedding and she had an a-line and you could barely tell. I love belly bumps though so if it was me I'd probably still wear a mermaid lol but that's just me and my belly bump obsession.

Congratulations! I wasn't really showing a ton at six months, but other women show almost immediately, so it's hard to anticipate. If you find a "real" maternity dress, it'll probably be stretchy and therefore the bump won't change the fit as much. If you want to try a non-maternity gown a size or two up, it gets a little more tricky and you have to think about empire waists and corset backs.

Congrats! We're almost wedding date twins and almost due date twins!!!! I'm in the same spot. I'll be right at 7 months on our date. I already bought a dress and had it tailored so that's a waste but I'll be waiting until a couple of months before to look for a new one since idk how big I'll get by then. I'll probably be looking for an empire waisted dress so it won't feel as tight and be more comfortable. I'll probs do an off the rack dress from David's.

I think pregnant brides look AHHHHHmazing!!! Anything empire waist will do, or search online for a plus size or maternity dress store near you. I live by Sacramento and they have one here so it's worth it to look if you haven't already. Or look for whimsical white dresses online you can always have extra bling added if it doesn't scream wedding to you
