Unity Idea

Suzanne, on January 14, 2020 at 6:56 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 15
I'm looking for another idea other than unity candle or sand. We'll default to the sand if we have to, but I'd like something different and more interesting. Ceremony is outdoors, so candles/flame are for sure out.

We are doing a unity braid. We also have a venue where sand or a flame is not a good idea. Hoping to get something like this for our ceremony. Definitely some different styles out there too. Unity Idea 1

My fiancé and i are going to plant a tree.. and combine 2 soils. “here and now we vow to grow together”
then we want to plant it at home so we will have the tree in our backyard as the years go on!

A glass ceremony! That’s what FH and I are doing. Instead of mixing different colors of sand, you mix different colored shards of glass. After the wedding, you ship it back to the company and they make a hand-blown glass sculpture out of the glass shards. One of the things I’m most excited about after our wedding! Here’s the website we ordered from: www.unityinglass.com

I've seen some people do something artsy like painting but not sure if that's really something you'd wanna do in a white gown aha or in nice clothes in general.

We're doing this puzzle since we're a blended family! I got it off of etsy. She has so many options to choose from!

That would be a great idea, except it's only us two. Neither if us have kids. Yours turned out great!

If we can figure put how to do it together, FH likes this idea.

FH had the idea to tie the last couple knots on a tie blanket that we make together. I thought it was perfect since blankets seem to be the staple gift in our relationship (he's gifted me three and I have given him one). We'll make most of it before hand and have it embroidered and then day of tie 2-4 knots.

My sister and her husband did a handfasting ceremony for their intimate park wedding. (https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-ideas/irish-wedding-traditions)

My fiancé and I are doing a ring warming ceremony, so we can include all of our guests, as my sister did with her handfasting. (https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-ideas/secular-wedding-ceremony-ideas)

I struggled for a long time to find a unity ceremony idea that wasn't cliché or religious. The ring warming fits us perfectly!

I'm a fan of tying the rope and Amber's idea of using glass. I am in love with Ashley's idea of using the puzzle. My FH and I are not doing a unity part of our ceremony. Our ceremony is only going to be 10ish minutes, if even that.
