Unique venue to hold 40 people for Bridal Shower

Meeshbedo, on August 22, 2017 at 12:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

Hi All,

Anyone have some ideas on small unique venues that don't cost a fortune in Northern NJ to host a Bridal Shower? Roughly 40 people. Looking for more of an event space than a restaurant/bar since my father offered to make all the food (he caters on the side). Trying to find an affordable place since its just 3 bridesmaids paying for this. Yes, it is my shower, however two of my bridesmaids are out of state, and my sister is not the greatest when it comes to planning/doing the leg work. I'm just trying to help find an affordable venue. Ideally would host it at my parents house, but they don't really have room for that number of people and it will be in March, so too cold for outside.

Thanks!

We did a pavilion in a park and it turned out wonderful!

*Edit: Should've read the outside part. Sorry! Maybe a firehall?

We have 54 people at our rehearsal dinner. i ended up looking up banquet halls. they offer small rooms for that and some dont charge the rental fee for the banquet hall. i was lucky that our venue where well have the ceremony then flip to reception was free for our rehearsal dinner.

Check local American legions, VFW's and Knight's of Columbus. What area of northern nj? I'm central but might have some other ideas (or FH might) if we knew what's closer to you. I'd also add paging Celia to your post headline as she's in nj and knows lots of great places

Don't self cater this, okay? It may not even be possible since most venues require certificates of insurance, workman"s comp and health dept certification. I might suggest that instead of buying and cooking all the food, maybe your dad comes in as a fourth contributor? It's a little unconventional, but it could work.

You can try the Wyckoff Women's Club, the Englewood Women's Club and the Glen Rock Ambulance Corps. These are stand alone venues that welcome off premise caterers, (the disclaimers above....)

I'm not sure where in Northern jersey you are looking, but also you can try Victor's Chateau in Little Falls or Grillestone in Scotch Plains. We had my 2 sisters' bridal showers at Victor's Chateau. My bridal shower was recently held at Grillestone and everything was great.
