Unique Unity Ceremony Ideas?

HappilyHauser, on August 3, 2017 at 12:09 AM Posted in Planning 0 33

I am struggling to come up with a unity ceremony idea that feels right. I don't want to do anything too involved (such as planting a tree) but a sand ceremony feels too overdone and bland. I want to find something unique! What did you do/are you planning to do?? Smiley smile

We're doing a paint drip over canvas. I'm a tattoo artist so it's incorporating my hobby/job. It will later be on our wall when we buy a house.

We are doing a hand fasting ceremony as well as a promise box! FH and I are going to write down what we promise each other and our officiant is going to write them in nice calligraphy on wooden cards and have them in a box and read them during our ceremony. I am so excited!

You could do a love letter box , you write letters to each other and the parents do as well to the bride and groom, and during the ceremony you lock them all in a box for reading at an anneversery years later perhaps!

@kara that's a neat idea! The coolest one I've seen so far is having each guest take a stone out of a bowl at the enterance to the ceremony and hold it throughout. The pastor will say some words about its symbolic meaning of the love and support of all of these guests, and then we drop our stones in a vase. Guests then drop their stones in this same vase as they leave the ceremony (it would be held by an usher or something) and then this vase would be on display at our house as a remind of all of the loved ones there. Idk I can't decide if it's really cool, or too overly involved for a wedding ceremony

We are doing a crystal growing ceremony. Not gonna lie we found it through a blog. We wanted something science related because we are both research scientists. We've experimented with it at home and it was so much fun.

Such awesome ideas! My FH and I are doing a wine unity ceremony. I work with wine every day, so it was a no brainer! It essentially is us combining red and white wine to symbolize us becoming one. #10DaysAndCounting

My fiancé, his sister and I were just talking about this! We fell in love in high school working at a coffee shop so she suggested coffee and creamer! Not sure if I like it because we can't keep it forever, but might as well pass on the idea Smiley smile

We did a lego heart because we're big lego fans.

ETA- all the peoples loved it. Also our officiant had something awesome to say about it. The gist is that Lego is made up of 2 Danish words that roughly translate into play well. She then spoke about how that's perfect advice going into a wedding and do on.

We're doing a "tree planting," in order not to make it too involved, our parents will pour dirt into the pre-plotted tree (dirt will be in mason jars) and FH and I will pour water into the planted plot. No actual planting will take place at the ceremony, I just love the scripture that goes along with the tree ceremony

We are doing a glass unity ceremony.

We found a place where we can blow our own glass vase after.
