Unique Ideas for an Age Gap Wedding

Sydney, on October 3, 2018 at 2:11 PM Posted in Planning 1 7

Hi! I was wondering if anyone had any unique ideas for an age gap wedding. I'm 24 and my fiancé is 44. Our friends and family tend to joke around about the fact that he landed someone much younger than him, and I'd really like to incorporate something fun or some humor into the wedding. I'd also like to find some pictures of a wedding with an age gap...I've searched online but can't seem to find anything.

xoxo

Google May-December weddings and quite a few photos come up. Maybe try the same search on Pinterest as well. Good luck!

Mind the Age Gap, the TV show, came out after Mind the Age Gap, the discussion forum focused on small age gaps, was no longer: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6864084/

May December Society focuses more on large age gaps but is more like Instagram: https://maydecembersociety.com/

Ageless Love came out around between the time of Mind the Age Gap and May December Society: www.agelesslove.com/boards/forum.php

Hi Sydney! Welcome to the WeddingWire community! Smiley ring Something that I think could be so funny is to somehow incorporate photos of you both from the same year, you could have side by side yearbook photos from early on and then maybe senior year of high school? You could even make a joke and have his baby photo displayed with a year like 1930 (kidding of course!!) You could also come up with a funny hashtag!

My best friend and her husband are that far apart and while we were eating dinner at the reception, the band started playing "Gold Digger" by Kanye West. Maybe we just have a sick sense of humor, but it was *HILARIOUS* to watch the faces of the people in the crowd that didn't realize she asked them to play it (as a joke). There were a lot of uncomfortable looks around the room and whispers. We.were.dying!!!

Hmmmm....we have a 20 year age difference as well. I wouldn't dream of bringing attention to it at our wedding, but it is going to be a very small, intimate, upscale evening. We are having a string quartet, so playing gold digger wouldn't work, either! I guess it is knowing your audience. If you are having a big reception, party, etc, you could probably get away with it.

I'm 12 years older than my FS. We definitely arent doing anything to highlight that. Age is just a number and you cant tell looking at us that I'm that much older than she is so why bring it up? The people that know us both really well will know and those that dont wont care.
