She probably was freaking out over having to pay for that aspect.

However, she should’ve shown more compassion towards her sister.

Maybe she’d have been willing to pay for half if this had been approached in the proper way from the beginning.

“I need a new 🎻ist and YOU have to pay for it because you broke your 💪”!

Wouldn't make me feel like paying for anything either.

This illustrates why you shouldn't use friendors for anything important to you in the first place. If a normal vendor screws up, you can seek a refund, report them to the BBB, report them on social media, etc. But if you use a friendor and things go wrong, you can end up impairing the friendship over one day. It's just not worth it.

In this case, the violinist was being generous to offer to play for her sister's wedding in the first place. The couple would have had to pay for music if the violinist hadn't offered, so they didn't lose anything when the violinist offered and then had to back out. But now the sisters (and the boyfriend) are fighting, and a whole family relationship has been impaired.
