Uneven wedding party

Jazmin, on January 2, 2020 at 9:47 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
My FH has about three more groomsmen than I do bridesmaids. I have four people he has seven. Do I ask family members I have just an "okay" relationship with to be in the wedding or should he narrow his side down.

Definitely don't ask people to be in your wedding party that you don't 100% WANT to be part of things. That almost always leads to issues later on. An uneven wedding party doesn't matter in the slightest! He can have seven and you can have four, nothing wrong with that at all Smiley smile

You can just double up who walks with who. Don’t ask people to be in your party to be in it. Uneven isn’t an end all to photos or anything. Just shows your circle. I say leave it!

Neither! Uneven wedding parties are a normal thing these days. Just go with whoever is most important to you & don’t worry about the numbers being even

Uneven parties are becoming more and more common. You should only have those you truly want standing by your side!

No, just have an uneven party! We had 1 more GM than BM. I was in a wedding with 2 more BM than GM. Both times, it was totally fine.

Could you make 3 of them ushers?

We are having an uneven wedding party because one of my best friends is in residence and sadly can't come, but we will only be off by one. My FH had a lot more people he wanted than I did, so we made 4 of his 9 ushers. Now I have 4 and he has 5 (plus 4 ushers). Everyone is happy.

Just have an uneven number. You can still get great photos with an uneven number and its most important that you have the people you want with you on that day.

I'm having only one bridesmaid and my FH is having 2-4 groomsmen.

We had uneven sides. One of my dear friends just couldn't make the trip (she had to switch jobs for safety, and it really hit her finances), so we just doubled up two of his groomspeople with one of side. (Ironically, it ended up being my bridesman with his sister and friend as groomswomen.)
