Ugly crying...

I'm a crier. I cry at EVERYTHING. I cry looking at cute puppies. Are there any other super emotional brides out there? If you're already married, how did you deal with this? Did you just have your MUA on standby?! How did you get through your vows?!

I cry a lot. That's part of the reason we just did repeat after me vows. I got a little emotional at something in the ceremony that I said but that was it. Otherwise I was just excited. But my sister taught me a trick: when you think you are going to cry squeeze your butt cheeks together. It sounds weird but totally works.

I started crying the other day when I listened to a potential song for walking down the aisle. Maybe once we actually pick a song, I'll just listen to it over and over and over until I become immune to crying? Maybe I can train it out of me?!

@K&D17 - my MOH (a doctor) started talking to me about how I should take propanolol the day of the wedding just to keep me calm if anything gets stressful and to make sure I don't start sweating. The conversation was unrelated to my fear of crying the whole time. I'm still not sure if she was joking. Unfortunately, Zoloft has the opposite effect on me. It makes me shaky and paranoid. I would end up thinking the wedding was conspiring against me, haha!

Carry a pretty handkerchief with your bouquet! It can double as your "something old." :-)

@nautibride - That is hilarious! I'll try that next time I start to get teary over something ridiculous!

@BlueHen - I listen to my aisle song daily and I cry every time. I tried. Don't think it'll work. Hopefully I get all the tears out at the rehearsal.

My dh says I'm over emotional haha. I honestly cry about everything, the Subaru commercial with the lab forget it. My wedding I was so calm and composed until I saw the flower girls. My bms helped calm me down and I was fine until we started walking down the aisle I started ugly crying, but once I saw dh he completely calmed me down. I didn't shed a single tear during the ceremony and regret not reading our own vows because I thought I'd be so emotional. I really don't know how I got through it. I was just so overwhelmed with love and happiness. Try thinking about other things and keep your girls on standby. You'll get through it I promise!

Thank you @Mrs.High! I think I'll lose it when I see my step daughters in their dresses! I really hope that I get all my cries out before. A few comments have put my mind at ease (kinda).

A year and a half later I still tear up when I hear the song I walked down the aisle to so I understand about being a cryer. I had one or two moments when I was holding back tears as I walked down the aisle but aside from that I was able to hold it together. For me, I found that if I concentrated on only what I was doing at that moment I could deal. (I know for me, looking ahead or back to wedding day I saw the meaning of the day as a whole and by focusing on just that moment I was able to lessen the keep calm). Honestly I cried more as a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding than I did at my own wedding. (Luckily no one , especially DH noticed that detail).

I'm sure I will cry. I haven't been to a wedding yet that I haven't cried at. I have a feeling my dad and/or mom will cry and that will make me cry. My dad is already crying when I had him listen to a few song for our daddy daughter dance to help me pick the one.

I'm marshmallow fluff on the inside. I get teary eyed and choked up very easily. I got super emotional at my wedding rehearsal and I almost sobbed. I was worried I would totally lose it at the wedding, but I was totally fine! I think the rehearsal really helped. You might surprise yourself. Smiley smile

I'm a cry baby according to FH. But I have not cried since the whole wedding planning process. That being said I'm scared I may be keeping it all in and ugly crying will occur on the wedding day better let my Mua know to have all the waterproof makeup ready lady!!

I'm actually not much of a crier in everyday life. However, the wedding planning process has brought about an unusual amount of tears for me, both happy and not-so-happy (stress tears, lol). I've never thought I'd cry at my wedding, but literally every time I hear my processional song, I get weepy!

    I'm a horrible UGLY CRIER !!

That was my fear for when he popped the question - I ugly cried

That is my fear for wedding day

all i know is that if it happens it happens, i rather ugly cry, than ugly hold back.

I'm super emotional and this past week has been so much worse, crying watching Pokemon, reading Harry Potter, etc. so I'm hoping I'm letting it all out and that day my eyes will be dry lol

You guys crack me up hahaha. I love this! I didn't think crying at such ridiculous things was such a common thing. UGLY CRIERS UNITE!

I hope that I'll be so overwhelmed and happy that I won't feel the need to cry. I'm crossing my fingers, but won't hold my breath... Unless that helps with not crying. Then I might hold my breath. KIDDING! (Kinda)

I totally am! I'm way too emotional, I wonder if me being a Pisces has anything to do with it. In any case, I am following because I can be a crying mess...

Confession: I bawl when any bride finds her dress on SYTTD...even when I hate her dress.
