How about you dont stress yourself by making monthly newsletters. Have they bought the items they needed? if so, why are you emailing them or what else do they need. Get only a couple together for the make up trial All dont need to go.

I feel you. I have two bridesmaid's who still havent made the final payment or picked up their dresses yet either, and the dresses have been in since September.

Same my way, I think to myself, if this was your freaking wedding I would be all about it! I have been a BM several times (27 dresses, holla! lol) and it's weird that no one in the WP seems excited cept for like 1 1/2 lol- feel ya girl-o well! It's YOUR (and Fh) DAY! I bet you the last week or so everyone will be on board and by then it's like who gives a fart?? lol- keep your head up!

Speaking as the MOH in 3 weddings and a bm in an up coming one, id have 2 say sit down and talk 2 ur bridal party. if you know their personalities be4 u asked them 2 be in ur wedding, u have 2 take into account that their still going to expect u 2 address them as an idividual, and while knowing its ur day they may not understand how the stress is affecting u. I almost lost mi bestie over her wedding day expectations and attitude. we agree 2 be in ur wedding because we want 2 support u, not to get screamed at because ur stressed. the best advice i can give is pick ur bridal party with ur head and not just ur heart. if someone is a drama queen b4 u asked, they are going 2 be 1 after u ask. if someone is always broke, they're gonna be broke when it comes time 2 pay for stuff. my best friend isnt my MOH because shes too controling and opinionated. but i wanted her with me. so shes a bm..and if u do kick them out after having talked 2 them, they cant say u didnt try 2 tell them..

Seems to be a common theme here...bridesmaids are a headache. I started out with 9 and the ended up with 9. I have friends from all aspects of my life-childhood,high school and college, and they have had beef through my entire process which has caused me so much stress. The one that I thought would be the most level headed had been an even bigger headache. What a nightmare. But you get to a point where all that matters is your wedding day and walking down the aisle to your husband. I've developed an I don't care attitude and I'm just trying to make it to the wedding day. I said I'm going on friend hiatus after all this is over!

When I got married 10 years ago I had about 15 women in by bridal party. Learned then that it does not take all that, especially when the ish hit the fan with my marriage there was no one I could turn to at all. Less in this situation is definitely more; less stress and worry and more love and support.

Karla, are these emails ones that actually warrant replies? Just speaking from experience as a BM, if it was a mass email with just facts and information, I didn't neessarily feel the need to respond, UNLESS there was something specific the bride was asking for me to respond for.

Maybe thats how some of them are viewing the emails? I find it's very easy to not respond to emails when they're addressed to you and 8 other girls.

In all of the emails...it says please let me know blah blah.....and only about 3 ever do what I ask.....and I have been a bm before and its not that hard to just do simple task...and even more so when I dont ask them to much of anything but get a dress come to one rehearsal and to do makeup trial if they want

I have to agree I had bm and dropped her because of the stress she was causing trying to boss the other maids around she even called the FG's mom and lied, told her I said to get some different color shoes then what I had said the last straw was when I called her about shoes when I bought the dress and she ignored me and then I had my daughter call her and she picked up first ring. I let her know I knew and her service was no longer needed. I feel letting her go made my wedding day less stressful because all my other bm were great, there was a lot more other things she did like telling me her boyfriend said this or that but I am making a long story short. I simply told her this is our day I don't expect it to be important to you but it is important to me if you don't want to be my bm please tell me I would rather you sit with the guest and we still be friends than to piss me off and we lose friendship over one day. Well we aren't friends anymore but I had the day that I wanted

I feel ya! 1 of my 8 has ordered her dress. I just figure, I let them know the dress style # & color and if they order it, then they are in, if not, oh well! I'm sure time will tell. I'm not stressing about it though. Like someone else said, As long as the bride & groom are there, that's all that matters.
