Uber for wedding transportation??

I personally love uber. I live in Boston and couldn't get around without them. I think they will even give discounts for events which you may need to contact them directly about and have your wedding guests use a special code. Were using uber to transport the wedding party from the hotel to the rehearsal dinner. It's about a mile down the road but with ladies in heels is probably better off.

We're doing this! Uber SUVs for pick up and drop off for bridal party. Way cheaper than limos and just as nice, honestly.

They have Uber Select now in some areas too which guarantees you a nicer car... FH was the BM in a wedding in March and they took Uber when their limo got into a fender bender... they loved their driver so much more than the limo driver!

You literally read my mind - I was going to start this exact post today!! I know they do offer discounts also (i.e. a wedding hashtag you enter for 10% off or something) as my friends did this for their wedding, but I've been having trouble communicating with Uber about it (in fairness, I'm in Toronto and Uber is dealing with some legal issues here right now - today they are in court). @MrsMorales were you able to negotiate anything like this with them? Where are you located? Anyone specific to contact about this?

I'm still debating this vs. a more traditional limo or party bus... but the latter is so much more expensive!

I thought you couldn't pre-arrange Ubers? Do you plan to just call for one when you need it?

You are able to prearrange Uberblack cars and SUVs in SOME of their bigger markets. I'll be out of Chicago, so its one of their largest. If you want to suggest uber to your guests, they'll give you a custom promo code to provide your guests for $20 off their first ride which is great for airport transportation-- although every city has its own regulations as if Uber can pick/up drop off from the airport. You can check on their website to be sure.

Most commonly, you just call for the car when needed. You select the car, see the time until pick up and set the location. Easy peasy.

We used uber black car to leave our reception, and it was perfect for us! Our day of coordinator just arranged it about 15 min before we were ready to leave.

I believe they don't pick up from airports though.... at least not in LA

My fiancé is swearing we can use uber for our transportation, but we're in the suburbs! There is no way we would have enough ubers for all the guests.

We are planning on using Uber as well, since we use it often anyway, we are in the SF Bay Area though, so there are always some around.

Mrs S: I used Uber from LAX to the Caltech campus once, he was just picking me up from the cell phone parking lot and there was some extra fee, but still cheaper than a cab.

Yea I'm thinking of doing this for our getaway! I don't want either of us to drive and the hotel we are staying at is literally one streetlight away from our reception venue. Can't really justify renting a nice car with a Three hour minimum to go .05 miles up the street...

I'm also considering using Uber, but am in Toronto. I have used them three times so far, and love it. Long story short though, the licensed cab companies are trying to ban them from operating here, and I'm not sure if they'll be here by the time our wedding rolls around in September! Fingers crossed.

FH also works for them part time to help pay for the wedding
