Uber as means of transport on wedding day

Natalie, on May 23, 2017 at 3:29 AM Posted in Planning 0 16

My fiancé and I will staying at a hotel 2 mins walk from venue so transport is not really needed. We are planning on getting photos before the ceremony at a place about a five minute drive up the road. No point hiring a car for this so was thinking of just booking one of those fancier uber blacks to take us there. Anyone used uber on their wedding day before and would recommend? Can we book in advance or is it best to just leave it and book when we are ready to leave? (depending on how on schedule we are with getting ready)

I had an Uber SUV take us back to hotel after reception. I didn't book in advance. It was a lot cheaper than a limo since I'd have to reserve minimum 4 hours.

Yes you can book in advance. Since you'll need them before the wedding, I recommend reserving them in advance. Have them take you to the photo location, wait and take you to your vendor.

I've had to wait up to 30 mins for Uber. Reserving them eliminates the risk of you being late for the ceremony.

I would reserve, you wouldn't want to take a chance there is one but they are 30 minutes away or there none remotely close in your area or surrounding areas at that time. That would be a shame. If there is an option to reserve for anything I always take it, better safe than sorry. Especially on your wedding day.

I wouldn't do it too far in advanced, but I would do it a day or two before.

Sounds like a better idea than a charter. I think I'm going to look into it too

My friend is using Uber for the transportation of her wedding party during the rehearsal events and during the wedding day as well.

I thought about doing this, everyone said I was crazy saying things like "how can you trust some stranger with something so important." blah blah blah. I'm like we are doing that anyway with everything lol.

We're planning to use uber, the restaurant where we're having dinner is a mile from where the ceremony will be so most of us will walk and we will pay for ubers for the grandparents and anyone who doesn't feel like walking.
