Hey everyone!
We are having our ceremony and reception at the same venue. We will be renting some gold chairs to better fit our decor on the bottom floor where the ceremony and dinner/dancing will be. To save money, we opted for the dark brown house chairs on the balcony/upper level where cocktail hour will take place. During cocktail hour we will also be having our Chinese tea ceremony on the main floor so the guests may watch from above. FH Mom has been very sad that we opted for a florist (logistically she would have too much to do the day of) so we thought we could ask her to do the cocktail flowers. In addition, our escort cards will be displayed on a large double happiness symbol on the second floor. Red is a big color in Chinese weddings and although we don't have any red planned for the main decor I was thinking we could do the balcony/cocktail area more traditionally? With red/white/cream/gold.
Would this be odd to have two different schemes/themes between upstairs and downstairs? The spaces are clearly defined for different parts of the day. The ceremony/dinner will be white/cream/gold and greenery. I will be wearing both a white and red dress at different parts of the evening.
