So this might seem kinda dumb to some of you. I am very modest when it comes to changing infront of others. I keep wondering what it's going to be like when I try on wedding dresses. Is the consultant going to be in there with me while I'm in my bra and undies? Should I wear a slip or something. And...

Is the consultant going to be in there with me while I'm in my bra and undies? Should I wear a slip or something. And I'm guessing I should just wear a strapless bra right since that would go with any type of dress?

Ladies - what should I expect? What did you wear while trying on dresses?

Thanks for all the great advice ladies. I finally went yesterday "just to look" (right). My MOH and I went to David's Bridal (without an appointment since we were just going to get ideas) but after browsing there were some dresses I wanted to try on but couldn't fit me in til like 4 hrs later.

So we went across the street the Alfred Angelo. They took me in right away. The girl gave me a long slip and a bustier bra and stepped out while I changed into that. Then she brought dresses in and helped me into them, which I was glad she did otherwise I don't know how I would have gotten in and out of them without falling over or getting tangled lol.

I was alot less intimidating than I anticipated and the girl was REALLY nice. After about 8 dresses I found THE ONE!

Ewww and OMG to the ladies talking about thongs and no undies! Had a chuckle in the dressing room when I was thinking about those posts and had to push the images out of my mind lol.

Great advice... Hayley especially...awesome list and YES holy COW it got hot!!!! they DID give you slips and things to help, but i needed help with all the back, also the bustier back, cause it was top to bottom eye hooks, so i held the girls up and she did it for me... You have to have a certain comfort level, but they shouldn't push you at all....

@Lisa - here is a link. I got mine in the ivory and we are adding a jewel encrusted colored sash (color yet to be determined, either deep purple or deep red). The jewel on the sash mimicks the detail on the dress.
