Trying on wedding dresses

ARIEL, on June 11, 2019 at 3:43 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

Sooooo what are you supposed to wear to try on dresses? Probably going to start trying on some soon (my mom and his mom are ready to go dress shopping).

Also, your favorite and least favorite part about dress shopping?

Surprisingly I am not looking forward to it. I'm nervous I'll get inundated with options.

I wore seamless underwear and no bra. The no bra thing wasn't purposeful. I don't wear a bra usually. I wear camis everyday. I warned the stylist and told her I'd be happy to keep it on but she said it wasn't unusual at all. You could wear pasties. 🤷‍♀️ I had a really great experience at BHLDN. The stylist was nice and they gave my mom and I rose.

I brought a strapless bra, but ended up not needing it. Seamless, skin-toned panties. A hair tie. Some people bring shoes. The shop I ended up buying from had shoes available.

OMG that is where I want to go for my wedding dress. I just love their simple and elegant dresses. I'd be surprised if I didn't get my dress from them. Great to know that the experience is great too.

I went to BHLDN too and had a great experience. I wore a skin tone bra that could be made strapless, and a flesh colored thong. Next time I go dress shopping though, I’m definitely wearing the pasties/sticky boobs and just seamless flesh colored panties. There really was no need for me to wear a thong since nothing I tried on was tight and I ended up having to take my bra off which was a little uncomfortable for me (I’m not usually topless around strangers lol) so if you think you’d feel that way too I’d recommend the pasties. And if you’re going to be wearing heels with the dress, bring a pair of heels too. I also now know I personally need to bring deodorant in my bag next time for some light reapplication 😳

I didn't even think about it and accidentally wore black underwear one of the days I went 🤷‍♀️. Honestly, I don't think it matters too much. Actually, with the black underwear I could easily tell if any dress was too sheer. I also wore a regular bra and just put the straps down if it was a strapless dress because I don't really have a good fitting strapless bra. I think the biggest thing is to just not go commando lol.

I'm 1 week after you Smiley smile I tried on dresses a few weeks ago only because my grandma, sister and MOH were in town (engagement party) and I didn't know when they would be again. I just wore normal underwear and took my bra off for all the fittings. The stylist was super chill about the nakedness LOL and made it very comfortable to get in and out of dresses. I had a vision of what I wanted and this trip confirmed it for me. I only tried on about 6 dresses, but I deff narrowed down what I'm looking for. I made appointments in August to go "real" dress shopping with my Mom. It's hard for me because I live in NYC and my family lives elsewhere so technically I think I might be a little early, but I hoping to buy the dress before the end of the year!! Closer to the 1 year out mark.

We originally wanted Oct 10 but our venue informed us that Pride weekend was the same weekend. Our venue is in the park it is being held and in Atlanta (traffic and crowds) so we had to change it but whateves lol.

I read two people who are having theirs Oct 2020 and pretty much have bought everything already. Made me feel like I needed to go dress shopping pronto ughh lol. Trying not to be a procrastinator I naturally am

Pasties!! that's a great idea! My fiance is a tattoo artist and has so many of them. Don't know why I didn't think of that.
