Tropical wedding flowers on a budget?

Lisa, on May 23, 2024 at 12:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
We are looking for white orchids/a tropical white flower and greenery (like some kind of palm leaf) for the bouquets and tables. Anyone know where we kind find these types of flowers on a budget? Or good fake ones? Costco doesn’t have many tropical options, otherwise that would have been my pick to use!

If you are in a major city (Los Angeles, NYC), you can go the wholesale flower markets open to the public and find most flowers at cost. There are tutorials online. Way cheaper than faux flowers, which often are more expensive than out of season exotic prices to look realistic.

Another option to look into is fiftyflowers.con which has customer service and tutorials available.

    You’re welcome!

Sometimes the wholesale markets have vendors who will even design and deliver them for you inexpensively and still lower prices than the regular wedding florists’ minimums.

Also, real flowers are always better for the planet because they are biodegradable where faux is not. Faux also will trigger allergies because they collect dust. Unlike flowers from your garden, commercial flowers sold wholesale to the florists do not have the same pollen concerns that trigger allergies.

Try your local grocery stores and city's Chinatown for simple potted white orchids. Cut tropical leaves like palms or monsteras should be inexpensive from Chinatown or another florist. If you purchase your own plant from Home Depot to cut up, you can google or YouTube the oil combination that florists use to make palm leaves look shiny. Best wishes.
