Traveling with Wedding Dress

A lot of airlines have pilot's closets that they will allow you to hang your dress in if there is room. I would search which airline you plan to fly and see if there is a closet available on your plane. If not, you can lay your dress flat on top of everyone else's luggage in the overhead luggage. I would make sure you place your dress in a plastic, liquid-proof travel bag, just in case something were to leak/spill on it. Or, if you want to be really certain it is safe and remains in your possession, you can buy an additional seat on the plan for it.

When I was dress shopping, my assistant told me to be polite but confident and ask them to hang it in the pilots closet. She said she'd never had a bride be told no.

I decided to book a business class seat for my outgoing flight as long haul usually has a extra cupboard for business class passengers (hopefully improving my chances!)
