Traveling Wedding Dress

Miosotys, on July 7, 2019 at 5:54 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
ISO best recommend wedding dress traveling bag. Traveling on 4hr flight to CO with my dress. I was planning on taking it as carry on, but my flight doesn’t allow carry on for free. So going to need a bag small enough to take it as a personal item. My dress isn’t puffy but worried about it wrinkling to much. Advice?

What about a traveling garment bag? The type that fold over?

I found this one on Amazon- you may have to double up your dress to get it to fit.

I'd probably pay whatever the carry-on fee is or consider shipping the dress ahead of time through an insured carrier and arrange for it to be steamed/pressed when it arrives at the destination.

I have a 10 hour flight. I tried contacting the airline to see if they would help in transporting the dress. Sadly, they said to put it in the over head compartment or check it. It's to puffy so I reluctantly have to check it. I'm terrified it won't arrive with me. Good luck.

    Hawaiian Airlines.
I'm gonna give them another call. I have had a couple of friends who have had destination weddings and they were allowed to hang the dress in the flight attendant closet. Of course they used different airlines.

    I'd call the airline first.
If I receive the same response I'll check in in a large suitcase to minimize the wrinkles. Luckily I have a few days before the wedding to have it steamed.

I would pay the extra for a carry-on and plan to have a steamer available when you get there!
