Transportation for Wedding Party

Candace, on January 5, 2020 at 10:52 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
From the church to the venue is a 15 minute drive. We have a small wedding party, 3 bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen. We are contemplating either skipping on wedding party transportation, or renting a vehicle that would fit us all... but more leaning towards no transportation. Is this rude? Around here party buses and limos are stupidly expensive and we’re keeping our wedding under $10k. What are your thoughts?

I don’t think it’s rude as long as they know well in advance so they can choose to self-transport or to carpool

I don’t think it’s necessary to pay for certain transportation, but I think it would be nice to at least carpool with your bridesmaids.

I don’t think it’s necessary. The bridal party will likely want to ride with their spouse/significant other and it will be fine. Just let them know in advance.

    Hi Candace,
I agree with the other ladies, that's such a short drive, as long as everyone knows in advance!

Not rude. My FBIL got married 45 minutes away from the reception and everyone drove themselves.

That being said, that was the night I decided we absolutely had to get a party bus. Everyone showed up at way different times. The brides sister and brother (in the wedding party) had to ride with their aunt and uncle and the aunt and uncle have no consideration for anyone else, so they showed up an hour after the rest of the bridal party.
We got a party bus and we're using it to take photos and come back to the same venue. So honestly, its just personal preference.

Personally, I think the bride & groom should provide transportation for the wedding party but if it's not in budget I'm sure they can carpool or uber together. If they have SOs, they will want to drive home with them after the wedding so I'm sure they wouldn't want to take 2 cars.
