Transport wedding favors

Heather, on August 4, 2023 at 4:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Okay, so I'm curious if anyone could help out with a few ideas on how we can safely transport our favor bags(most will include a glass item).

How far are they needing to travel? Across country or a few hours away? How many do you have? If you transporting them is too much, consider packaging them up and shipping them to the destination. You could certainly arrange to ship them to your hotel or venue. It would just take a bit of coordination.

They need to be transported 4-5 hours away. We have 17 of them.

Ok. So you should be able to box the bags safely. If a family member or friend is unable to carry them for you, double box them and ship them. Obviously you would need to coordinate that with the receiving end. It sounds manageable.

Since you only have 17, I would go to your local Uhaul store and get those cushioned baggies or bubble wrap that people get to protect their dishes when they move. They have different sizes, or the bubble wrap you just cut to the size you need. I also wouldn’t assemble the bags until you reach your destination, that way you can individually protect each item.

Great idea. The only thing that may be an issue is with putting the bags together after we arrive, as we have to drop them off the day before at the venue to the wedding planner & we already have the hotel booked for only a certain amount of time😅🥴
Do you think it would be okay to assemble the bags prior to leaving and then just not add in the mason jars until we get to our destination & from there to wrap them in bubble wrap before placing them in the bags? That would definitely be a lot easier & we should have time for that.

That should definitely work if the mason jars are the only breakable item! Those should be super quick to add once you get to the hotel. Maybe add some tissue paper or newspaper in the bags to keep them from getting squished during transit (unless they’re like tote bags or something).

Great idea! I'll add some tissue paper to them & I'll get a box to put them in as well. Thank you so much for all of your help. Honestly you've helped out a lot.
