Traditional or round arch?

Rachel, on September 7, 2020 at 12:17 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 24
Hi, ladies!

I have started researching arches, flowers, photographers, etc. for the big day... I am torn between going with a traditional arch or going with something a little different like a round one. We definitely will have flowers, etc. on it so it’s just the matter of deciding between the two. We will be getting married on the beach so I know that either one would look great! Which one are you feeling? Traditional or round arch? 1Traditional or round arch? 2

I personally love the round arch just for up close pictures (like the third picture), but overall, I think I like the look of the traditional arch best.

I didn’t have a preference between traditional or round but my florist had a round one I could use at no cost, so I went with that one 🤷🏼‍♀️

Generally speaking, I prefer round “arches”... but more for boho/forest weddings. For a beach wedding I’d definitely go with a traditional arch.

I agree, I think traditional would work better for my venue and surroundings ☺️

I’m a huge fan of in traditional arches personally. We are having a hexagon arch ourselves! What I would do is find a picture of the venue without the arch or go there and hold up the different shapes you might find you like one more than something else!

I definitely prefer the round. They're one of the more "trendy" things that I like over the classic.

Do they have a cultural meaning for you or is it decoration? It's okay for either answer.

The arch in some cultures is representative of the couple's home
The circle is more of an infinity thing.

My answer depends on what you are trying to represent.

I really like the circle “arch”! I have been going back and forth myself. My florist just got his circle arch and is going to do a mock up on the beach where we are having our ceremony so we can decide which we prefer. I’m leaning toward the circle at this time though...

I love the round ones, and certainly different to see at a beach wedding.

A couple here created an amazing geometric arch for their beach wedding. I wish I could remember their names! Or hope she sees this and posts her photo.

I like them all, but I definitely think geometric and unexpected arches are really cool!! That being said, it all really depends on matching the general theme / vibe / tone of your wedding!

Here are some different ideas from pinterest that I love 🤩:

I think it depends on how you want to decorate it. If you want flowers/greenery all the way around I would definitely go with the circle, but if you're planning to have a couple flower clusters and fabric draping I'd go with the traditional

Does your florist have one you can use? That might end up being your decider. I know to rent a chuppah (Jewish wedding) that my florist didn't have cost $1k. If you find someone who has an arch I'd definitely go with that.

That being said, have you thought about a rectangular arch? You could get some driftwood and have a really beautiful and beachy vibe!
