Total for my venue

Kylie, on June 4, 2019 at 5:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

My total for a venue I am considering is $11,450 but there is a 22% servie fee and 8.25% sales tax...

So, how much would my total cost be?

Do you know if they're assessing the service and tax fees on each item? Mine assessed gratuity after they assessed tax. So if that's the case for yours and if they're assessing it on all then your total would be around $15121

They should be able to tell you exactly what the total would be. It depends on whether they figure the service after tax or before. For daughter's venue it was after. If that's the way your venue/state does it, then I agree with pp -- the total is $15,121....

I wasn't sure either how they are calculating it--whether the service fee is charged before or after the tax. But my math brought me to $14,914, which is pretty close to what the others came to. So, yeah, that's your rough estimate.

I have to go and do the same thing for mine. It's hard when you don't have an exact head count yet. But we're far enough out that an estimate is good for now.

They're probably going to tax the service fee if so:
    11450 x 1.22 = 13969
    13969 x 1.0825 = $15,121.44

If they dont tax the service fee then:
    11450 x 1.0825 = 12,394.63
    11450 x .22 = 2519
    12394.63 + 2519 = $14,913.63
