Lots of research on flowers and keeping it to a minimum. For the ceremony we only ordered my bouquet, FH's boutineer, and a corsage for 2 of our 3 daughters (the one year old would eat a corsage if we put it on her). My bouquet consists of alstroemerias, roses, spray roses, hypericum berries, and an assortment of greenery. I chose flowers that fit the theme I wanted (white bouquet with some dark mixed in and greenery) and researched flowers that are low cost and handle the heat of July well. We don't need any ceremony decor because we are getting married on a mountain with plenty of natural flowers and greenery. For the reception, we are using my bouquet as the main flower decor for our dessert table along with vases with branches in water and floating candles. The centerpieces are small hexagonal terrariums which will each have a large burgundy Dahlia in them. Our guest list is small so we only need about 6 centerpieces. My florist is charging me per stem on the centerpiece flowers instead of per centerpiece to keep the cost down. Since we are having an early wedding (ceremony starts at 10am) and the centerpieces are very simple to build, we decided to pick up the flowers and deliver them to our reception coordinator the day before the wedding. They kindly offered to do all of our set-up for the reception at no additional cost which is saving us a bundle on delivery and set up fees. And voila, $200 florals for our wedding!
Our Must haves were, Great DJ, Open Bar w top shelf, Tux & Dress we want what we want. Everything else we are flexible on. Opps one more thing, No kids.
Three things we least cared about...Favors (not doing them) Plated meal (we are doing buffet its more social) Seating chart ( we decided venue is big enuf so seating isnt an issue so let them decide themselves )

Brilliant! It sounds gorgeous. We thought we were going to save money by using my aunt (who is a floral arranger) as our floral vendor. We even used origami centerpieces so we wouldn’t have to use that many fresh flowers. My aunt ended up being the second biggest expense, and the biggest time suck. 🙄
1. Dress- $2,000 originally but found it at another boutique in another state for half the price. 2. Bridesmaids Gifts- I am splurging on my girls (only 4) so they are all getting some fine jewelry pieces. 3. DJ
Hello! We're having a very small wedding and trying to be modest with our choices. So far, top splurges have been the reception dining package, which I'm totally cool with because having GREAT food is important to us. Second, the dress! Went over my budget on this item, but again okay with it. Coming in third place I believe will be decor for the ceremony and reception. Not done yet, but things are adding up quickly.
