Too much dress for a beach wedding?

Julia, on May 27, 2023 at 7:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 5
Hi everyone!! We are getting married in May 2024 in St. Lucia. Ceremony is in the afternoon, and temps get near the 90s. I’m in love with this dress (Madi Lane Dune)Too much dress for a beach wedding? 1
but afraid it will be too hot! I didn’t want to change into a 2nd gown!! I’ve already asked if there is anyway to lighten the dress up and unfortunately there isn’t. The same designer makes a similar gown with way less material (Easton) Too much dress for a beach wedding? 2
that would be more practical, but I feel disappointed. Has anyone attempted a beach wedding in tulle? The underskirt is a thin, silky satin. Thanks all!!!

That pattern matches well with a beach wedding.

If you are able to handle 90-degree weather in general, you may endure okay. You may want someone next to you with an umbrella or have a canopy above you.

I love the first dress, you look wonderful. Maybe if you’re worried about the heat you can ask the MoH or whoever is standing behind you to hold a parasol for you? (A long one maybe so their arms don’t get tired?) or like Michael said, a canopy! Maybe you both could stand under some sort of archway that provides shade

First dress looks great on you! I too am having a summer beach wedding (Puerto Rico), around 5pm so pretty much peak heat/humidity of the day. I think the dress you want looks very beachy and the ceremony shouldn't be terribly long? I do agree with the umbrella/canopy idea, though.
