Toes or no toes?

HisMrs, on June 1, 2012 at 2:53 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

My dress arrived yesterday! Woohoo! It needs to be shortened a couple inches. My dilema... how short can I go for a "floor length" dress? My shoes are beautiful and match my dress perfectly! I wanna show em off! I have looked at TONS of wedding dress pics on line and i never see shoes under the dress! Is there a rule I don't know about that you're not supposed to see feet with a long dress? I don't want it ankle length, just an inch or so above the toes to give just a little peek of the shoes. Yes or no?

If you want to show them off then definitely go ahead and show some toes! Its completely up to you, you could have your seamstress show you how it would look going to the floor and how it would look showing some of your shoes and see which way you prefer.

No Toes. Trust me, people will see your shoes. My shoes werent showing when I was standing straight up. But when you walk and pick up your dress a little bit to manoover around chairs people will see them. Everyone complimented me on mine. Also, they'll see them during the garter toss. Smiley smile dont make your dress to short just cuz your beautiful shoes!

I say no toes. As a girl who's suffered with major height her whole life, a floor length dress not quite reaching the floor isn't cute Smiley smile

People will see your shoes, don't worry!

I prefer to have the dress covering the shoes, but maybe an inch shorter would be okay.

I love my shoes too.. I had a chance to show it off in the shoe game Smiley smile

I am putting hooks and loops on the front of my dress so that for the reception, my camo heels can show!!! Also gonna need to walk and my dress has a ton of poof since I ordered my crinoline and installed (poor word choice) it in my dress so I will be tripping all over stuff if I hide my toes all nightl

Good advice ladies, thank you! I might go just an inch above the floor. You are all right, people will see my shoes eventually, but as Kristina W. pointed out, I am afraid my feet might get all tangled up in the dress when i walk!

MT: thanks for sharing your pic! I've heard of the shoe game but not sure how its done? what do you do?

I say no toes! As you walk and dance people will be able to see your shoes. I actually fell in love with my cousin's wedding shoes while she was dancing. I had every intention of wearing the same shoes as her until I came to my senses and realized I wouldnt be able to walk in them!
