but then again I can’t get myself to spend another 3-4K on a trip. So I’m thinking we might look at a simpler honeymoon like key west or Arizona.

did you take a smaller honeymoon and later regret it?

We are planning a big honeymoon. If you have the funds and means to do so I say go for it. You won’t regret the time spent together and the memories in the long run.

We are going camping for a couple days to spend some alone time after the wedding chaos then having a big honeymoon in Jamaica a few months later. We are getting married in August next year and can't take enough time off all at once. It will also help to get more fun money saved up.

My hubby really wanted to go to Europe but we WAY overspent for our DW and local reception and I figured we’d be exhausted. Since our DW resort was extraordinary, we enjoyed a mini-moon there which was heavenly! No regrets.

We're going on a 4 night mini moon right after the wedding. We have it narrowed down to 2 places. One is a private cabin in the woods, with stuff we can do around there or nearby. The other place is a horse b&b with horseback riding (obviously lol) and there's plenty to do near by
There's pros and cons to both places, we just cant figure out which one to go to

Same for us. We are both older and do not know when we will be able to do another big trip like this if we are successful in having kids.

Not set in stone yet, but I think we will be going pretty big for the honeymoon. Iceland, Ireland, and the Azores. My fh and I need to get out and see the world a bit. We're doing two way tickets for the whole thing, because it only costs a couple of hundred a ticket to fly from one place to the other. Also, we're air bnbing it. I wanted to do Madeira as well, but that would be getting to be a bit much.

The most important thing is having a honeymoon, not where you are going. I can understand if you want to stay stateside.

FH wants to go pretty big for the honeymoon. We're going back to Bermuda, which is where we got engaged. It was on a cruise so we only got to see like less than 6 hours at Port, and we both wanted to go again and see the rest of it! So we're going back and doing ALL the things we wanted to and really explore!!

That’s our problem too we have no “guarantee money” so I am just getting nervous about booking a big honeymoon then not being able to afford it later or coming home and being in debt from it cause we want to buy a home

We did a mini moon right after our wedding (almost 3 weeks ago) and are taking our big honeymoon next year in the late spring. Ours was due to the weather/climate in Ireland (where we will be honeymooning) this time of year, but you could always do a mini moon now and save for a big honeymoon later on.

We went to Banner Elk, NC. It is in the NC mountains. It's beautiful, especially this time of year. We really enjoyed it.

Tuesdays are one of the best days to buy plane tickets. Don't look on weekends, they tend to go up in price. And use an incognito browser when you search for flights! I've read many different things that say prices will increase if you continuously search for the same flight. I say go big for your honeymoon, but that's just me! We did a 10 day cruise to the Caribbean- we went to Antigua, Barbados, Bahamas, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia and St. Thomas. It was amazing!! Your honeymoon is such a special time. And after all the craziness of wedding planning and the day itself, it's nice to take some time for yourselves, relax and unwind while you get used to having the title of Mr. and Mrs. Do whatever suits your personality and works for your budget though! mini moons can definitely be fun! Just make sure you take some time for yourselves and unplug from everything else Smiley smile

We did a savings plan and stuck to it. We mapped out exactly how much it would cost and did wedding estimates and went from there. I greatly recommend this. Smiley smile

We are planning to do a mini moon right after the wedding, and then doing a bigger trip around our 1 year anniversary. We decided to do this because we want to save more money to have a bigger honeymoon. We also want to sell our current house and get a new one before then so we can just relax on our honeymoon and not have to stress. PLUS I really want a honeymoon baby and we aren't quite ready for that yet so it all works out Smiley smile

We are pretty on budget but I hate not knowing the unknown. Scared of last minute expenses

What is you & FH’s budget? Because, depending there can be so many different options! I’m huge on budgeting, but I’m still planning on Fiji. I’ve just found really good deals by comparing prices & looking up only bundle deals! Typically, bundle deals can save you a ton of money 😊
