So FH hasnt had too many opinions in regards to the wedding but he did express interest in doing a trash the dress session and therefore I feel like I should make that happen (and truly I think it sounds fun)! Since were having a reception back home I wouldnt trash my wedding dress but would find a cheaper one to do the session in. Any ideas where I can find a cheap one?? Anyone else do a trash the dress session...would you recommend doing it or no??

Thanks

My BMs and I talked about doing one before the wedding. They would all buy awful bridesmaid dresses and I would get a cheap gown and we would all bake "wedding cakes" and then have a cake fight in the dresses.

There is a breast cancer charity around here that does an annual sale. The dresses are $100 and they usually have some for $50, too.

Not all TTD sessions actually "trash" the dress. Most of the time the dress is cleaned and you can find nothing about the dress that would suggest it was ever in a TTD session. They can then be donated , sold, converted into quilts/clothing or even framed as a keepsake. =)

Thanks everyone for your opinions....we are not set in stone that we are going to do this which is why I came to you all to see what you thought! FH wants to do it which is the main reason I am considering it...I do agree with him that running around in the sand and water will be fun and allow us to show off our fun personalities, but we shall see if it even fits in the buget!!

I would seriously cry seeing my beautiful dress being "trashed." My parents would probably flip, too, knowing they spent $1500 on a dress that I ruined lol.

RayRay, thats why if we do this, I wouldnt use my actual dress....I would purchase a cheaper one for the TTD session.

I won't be doing one. 1) because I read a news article about a woman drowning during her trash the dress session, and given that my dress is poufy, I don't want it to happen to me. 2) I can't imagine destroying something so beautiful that has such sentimental value attached to it.
