Tips for Wedding Dress Shopping?

You don't have to take anything with you for wedding dress shopping (at least I didn't). I know they suggest that you bring things for your actual fitting, but not when trying dresses on.

My suggestion would be to go in with an open mind. Look up pictures of dresses before hand that you like and can show the consultant, but don't stick with one dress type. Try a bunch of different types on (you may like something that you wouldn't have imagined from a picture). Goodluck!!

I wore a nude strapless bra to my fittings, and a nude thong! Bring a hair tie with you so you can see what it looks like with your hair up or down or half up!

Have an idea of what you're looking for, but also don't be afraid to branch out and try something new on. My dresses are nothing what I wanted, but I fell in love lol. Be honest with your consultant. Their job is to help you find your dream dress, and you need to be honest about what you do/don't like. You won't hurt their feelings, and like my consultant said: "I didn't design them, I just work here!"

I went shopping this March, so Covid restrictions played a part in getting dressed lol. For the first two stores, I had to dress myself, but I danced competitively growing up, so dressing myself wasn't hard to do! I just had my MOH help zip me up if I couldn't get it all the way. The third store, the consultant helped me in dresses and I didn't feel awkward at all!

If that's an issue for you, then you could always just wear nude briefs or whatever style of underwear you like best!

I couldn’t find a nude strapless bra in my size so I had a black strapless. I didn’t even wear it since there were cups in the sample dresses and they use clamps to get it to your size. I wore just gray underwear and it was fine. I wouldn’t wear anything fancy to try on, but once you go for alterations then you’ll want what you are going to wear under the dress.

All of the dresses I tried on were padded so you probably don't need a nude bra. BUT WEAR NUDE UNDERWEAR! I remembered to but the lady next to me had dark blue underwear on and you could see it right through the dress!! Have fun! It's fun, but can be overwhelming!

Oh also, don't be discouraged at all with how they fit. Most of them are sample ones so they may not fit perfectly so it can be hard to get a good visual of what the final product will look like. but they'll use clips and such to try to give you a better idea.

I wore a white strapless bra and underwear, but the samples were all 2 or 3 sizes too big for me, so it didn't matter much. I think it's not really necessary to bring anything.

I'm bringing my wedding shoes and will be wearing a new pair of nude underwear and my Misses Kisses bra.

I didn’t wear a bra when I went to buy mine But i would recommend to bring a strapless bra to try on with the dress also to see what’s more comfy for you !

A nude bra is a good idea but honestly most wedding dresses are lined or padded so it’s not a must. I say just go with confidence and you stylist will help you see the vision you are looking for ! Happy hunting!

For trying on dresses, you don’t Necessarily need a strapless bra right away. If you have a nude bra and nude panties that’s fine for a trying on dresses. I didn’t get specific undergarments until my second fitting.
