Timeline help

Lauren, on September 26, 2019 at 6:14 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 2 12
Need help with time line anyone. We are doing first look and family photos before ceremony then going straight to cocktail hour. We are going to do first dance after dinner because then it will just flow into fun dancing but do we still do introductions before cocktail hour? Anyone have advice?

I've never seen someone introduced into cocktail hour, but if it works for you, go for it! Typically when couples join cocktail hour, they're still introduced into the reception or they skip intros entirely.

Grand entrance you mean? i think it'd be better to do grand entrance for the reception. but cocktail hour could work too, that way you can mingle with everyone already!

We just walked into our own cocktail hour without any sort of introductions or announcement.

    Hey there Lauren!

The grand entrance and introduction is typically done when you enter the reception part. You could do this, and then simply go to your table and sit down for dinner.

You can join the cocktail hour without any sort of introduction Smiley smile

    Does this make more sense?

It's up to you on when you want to the dances. Some people choose to do the first dance right after the introductions and then go into dinner. The rest of the dances usually happen after dinner. Some choose to do all the dances together after dinner. It's definitely a preference and how you want the night to flow.

I think it varies for everyone. Our venue was a bit unique so we did intros in to our cocktail hour. Do whatever works for you.

We're doing introduction during the reception, but if you want to do it during cocktail hour go for it!

You don't "have to" do anything, just do whatever you want as long as it makes sense to you guys!
