Timeframe for a fall wedding??

Paige, on September 17, 2019 at 11:12 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 19
Me and my fiancé were hoping to have a sort of fall themed wedding (you know, pumpkins and apple tones and all that fun stuff). However we just found the perfect venue with and AMAZING sale they are willing to give us. We are planning 2 years in advance to just make things less crunched and stressful (and easier on the wallet as well), and the only date the venue could guarantee us that far out (they don’t primarily do weddings so they like to keep a pretty open schedule) would be 9/3/21. In Ohio that’s a weird time, where it could be summer hot or it could be cooling down, but the leaves definitely won’t have changed color or fallen yet. Do you think a fall-ish theme would be out of place because of that? I was thinking we could maybe lighten it a little, for example instead of burnt orange tones and deep reds we could have white pumpkins, and more of a blush/light orange color scheme. Do you think this would look good, or should we just accept that it’s too early for fall?

I say go for your fall theme! Your colors don't need to match the season. They can be anything you'd like Smiley smile

Fall-ish themes definitely work in late summer. My only concern is if it's warm out, will that affect your clothing or food choices? If not, I say go for it. You wouldn't even need to change your color scheme (burnt orange & pumpkins still look awesome in late summer, IMO).

I'd say go with fall. Apple's are great that time of year too.

If Starbucks brings out the Pumpkin Spice Latte to kick off the Fall season on September 1st, you can definitely have a Fall-themed wedding on September 3rd. I generally view seasons by the months and would consider September to be "Fall" even if it is still warm outside.

We are having a fall wedding on 11/7/20 in Nags Head NC. Not only because its usually much cooler out but its also towards the end of Hurricane season. We wanted a fall wedding because we didn't want a winter or summer one because of the heat and having a spring one with my allergies would he impossible. My FH wanted to get married after October and we settled on the first week in November because our anniversary before we get married is on the 6th and everything is cheaper during this time of year here. I think that your fall idea is great and getting married in September is fine but if you are concerned about heat then I would wait.

    1. Comgratulations and 🍀‼️
    2. Do what makes you happy.
    3. My Wedding was moved from May to September. I didn’t care about season or the faux flowers being out of season. They’re not real, so it didn’t matter.

I’m using Cream 🌷s, 💜:🌹s, Anemonies, Calla Lillie’s, and Peonies.

It will be fine because it’s my vision and anyone that has a problem can leave. My standard line has been “input/opinions cost 💵”‼️

First off congratulations 😊, this is a really exciting time in you life. Second your idea sounds Awesome! And you you absolutely go for it if that what you and your FS what to do. Third, color palettes/themes don't have to match the season. My wedding is this Friday. Before we started seriously planning we knew we wanted a fall wedding, we wanted some form of pink and blue as our colors and daisies, lilies and roses for the main flowers. In the end non of what we've put together says fall, with my Summer colors and Spring flowers and but its us and it's beautiful.
So enjoy your wonderful pumpkin patch and apple tone wedding planning and dont let anyone take an ounce of joy away from you. Best of luck

Early September is Apple Season here in Ohio so I'd say go for it. The colors won't look off at all and a thrown in pumpkin would still not be too out of place.

We are getting married the same day in Nags Head! If you don’t mind me asking, what time are you holding your ceremony?

A fall theme easily works in September regardless of weather or colors turning yet. The farmer's almanac has harvest beginning in August as has been traditional for millenia.

We are doing the ceremony at 6pm, reception starting at 7. But we are doing a Friday night, so we are starting a little on the late side in order to avoid some of the workday traffic

We actually pushed back our date to March 20th 2021 which also happens to be my birthday and we are doing it local instead. Our ceremony time is 3pm but our venue coordinator said around 4 or 5 would be best so we could take sunset pictures
