Thursday wedding start time

Virginia, on January 21, 2021 at 9:56 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 12

What time would u want a Thursday night wedding to start if you were a guest? 5pm-1030pm, 5:30pm-11pm, or 6pm-11:30pm. I want to do what is most convenient for people who are working on Thursday to give them ample time to get there. Thanks!

I would go with the 6pm start time. If I work until 5, then I would still need to leave work, get home, get changed, and then go to the venue. I would also anticipate people leaving earlier than 11:30.

I agree with Hannah on 6 pm. The later the better.

We are doing a Thursday wedding as well. Our ceremony start time is 6:00pm, reception at 7:00pm, and we'll be done at 10:30pm.

6:00 p.m. to allow people time to get off of work and get ready.

Definitely 6 pm. The later the better if it's on a weeknight, in my opinion!

With the 6-8 week out frame for invites being sent plus verbal or magnet save the date sent at 6 months out, guests will have plenty of time to schedule that day off and adjust the rest of their week. It's on them to do that, not you. Lots of people are frequently scheduled to work Saturdays and can't get out of it without prior advance notice.

Based on that, any time slot will work since a half hour difference is not that much to worry about.

I recommend doing 6pm. 6:30 would be better unless you have no rush hour. My city still has rush hour even during COVID

I would say 6. Most people gets off around 5pm or before and where I’m from that would be good time with traffic as well.
