Just Said Yes April 2020

Thursday Night Wedding

Danielle, on April 10, 2020 at 11:39 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 7
Wedding was scheduled for April 24th, but now postponed to November 2020 due to virus. Venue is only offering a Thursday evening, completely sold out Fri, Sat and Sun into 2021. No refund. Thoughts? Trying to accept this.

I’m so sorry. I had to postpone my wedding also. I chose a date in January 2021 due to the same reason. We decided having a Friday or Saturday was important to us. So it’s a personal decision. Ask about possible Monday 2020 dates. That way people traveling can enjoy prewedding events and not have to take too many days off work !

We are going to face the same problem if we have to postpone ours. Our venue is always booked up over 12 months in advance. Ive heard they are offering brides Mondays and Tuesdays now. Crazy.

I really dont see any other option for you but to jump on the Thursday option. However, if you feel you are sacrificing too much by not having a weekend wedding you may have to look to 2022- thats what a friend of mine is doing.

If it were me personally, I would do it if I already invested a lot of money in said Venue. Otherwise I might look for another venue.

That stinks the venue is not willing to work with you on later dates! I would embrace the Thursday wedding honestly. I would think your guests would understand knowing what we have all just been through. It can still be a good time and then just turn it into your own long weekend with a mini-moon.

There are only so many dates and for months brides have been rescheduling. I'd take the Thursday and jump for joy - it will be an extended weekend. Party on and enjoy time with family and friends. Weddings really should be held on any day of the week - I mean there is no weekend mandate. Have fun and be unique. I happen to think Hump Day weddings would be awesome!

Have a blast, make it your own, make it special - and have fun! Smiley smile
